T-72 have much better situational awareness, its just that the US bullies 3rd world countries with the most modern weapons to get profit and oil. The iranians were badly trained and used 20-30 year old T-72As at that time while also being outnumbered.

Leopard Tank crews are told their life expectancy in a battle are 5 min, even if the first shot didnt pen the crew would be knocked passed out from overpressure, wont matter how strong armor is a huge he round would disable any tank, take out critical components.

@@joseavila5747 Actually, when an APFSTR goes through a tank, the crew close to the hit would be liquidated and sucked out the exit hole behind the round. I've seen it tested with sheep in an armored vehicle. They just sprayed out the other side.

To be fair, they keep screwing with the damage models of the armor. I'll throw a nice long shot sabot that arc and hita the top of the turret and its like nothing happened to them at all. Irl that hunk of metal would be at least smoking and if its a turret that has the ammo compartment compartmentalized, it would have been jettisoned because it would be on fire. The gunner and/or commander should be severely concussed on top of that. I remember in Post Scriptum _and i think_ as well in Hell Let Loose they have it so the player character can be damaged by penetrating and spalling shells. They need that in squad. Especially spalling and overpresser injuries.

Still horrible show by both those crews! but after having witnessed a few tank crew plays now, it seems to be normal. Need a well oiled crew to operate vehicles in Squad it seems, and even then the damage model you describe may play against you.

@@NainakaiAyita Full Crewing a piece of armor is the most fun and most rewarding experience. When you get a dedicated crew of people, and a tank commander/SL who won't rage quit after your first death you can Ace a match and get multiple armor kills and be VERY effective infantry support. I have several memorable moments of full-crewing a T72 or the Challenger and just being plain better than the other than. It's even more rewarding when the opposition is also playing to their best and knowing how to maneuver and angle their armor and stuff to deflect you APSFDS rounds and other actual armored warfare stuff. Even better if you ride with other armored crews because half the time the other team is just two manning 1 MBT. It's a great time. It's just hard to get the people dedicated enough for it.

Hitting the Lower plate is not an good idea in this game Left side on the frontal plate where the lights are hit there you will ammo rack a t72 with 2 or 3 shoots if you hit well maybe even one shot I oneshoted T-72 there so many times its just dumb and unrealistic why does it hit ammo there but the whole lower plate where the autoloader is is not a ammo weakspot

Squad vehicles and mechanics are confusing! New players please don't be tempted by the big shooty tube. Learn how to drive and follow your gunners commands please, or alternatively just be present in the command seat and observe the comms etc. Learn how to be a disciple before you become a leader!

This is mostly true but the t-72s ammo rack is actually dead centre of the tank, which is confirmed by a armor squad guide on steam. The video of moidawg ammo racking the t-72 was more of a pixel shot than its actual ammo rack.

Nobody ever said these tanks were invincible and if your counter argument is "but Ukraine" keep in mind these are export variants and don't have the same bells and whistles as the domestic ones. The t-72 gets bodied by Bradley's the leopard gets taken out by artillery and the crew still survives... Which ones better again?

@@noahgreene7246 Several very much not export variety Leo 2 A6s were destroyed in Ukraine. In Syria Turkish Leo 2 A4s were taken out by Soviet ATGMs. One having the front magazine detonated so violently that the front of the hull was obliterated. Not a single western tank has seen true genuinely near peer combat. There has been a T-72 in every war since 1973 save for conflicts in South America.

So as a Tank noob i can explain: Everybody starts panicking and shouting orders and directions. You tense up and get overwhelmed. You load in the TOW knowing its the best damage against a tank. You spam left click not knowing it takes ages to load in that TOW. You realize and switch back to AT and by the time you get off your first shot you are about to blow up. Exactly what happened to me on the same map in the same area a couple of days ago lol

As a show of IRL sircumatance, this is about right. The only thing missing is the turret/crew becomming part of the russian space program as the US dart cooks off the ammo.
