Every time my problem for the plants is the watering. I bought a moisture meter and now I understand that it is better to use my senses and a stick. Thanks for the video I appreciate it.

I knew that those water meters weren't accurate!!! I'm happy actually to hear you say it and know I'm not crazy. I will try the chopstick method. I do pick up my plants, too. But the outside ones, not so much 😂. Thank you for your videos!

Don't bother with that finger method, unless you like to stick your finger 2" deep in the soil in 3 spots or so, risking to damage roots or underground shoots, and having to do this for every plant. Imagine having 50-100 plants. No, just weigh the pot, you will get the hang of it quickly, water is very heavy.

If I put my finger in a plant pot, all the soil is going everywhere and there's an unsightly big hole in the ground. I don't seem to do well with chop sticks and lifting a pot doesn't make a difference to me. So I have to rely on a moisture meter. I know it's not the best but at least it gives me an estimate. But thanks for the video.

I have many different kinds of plants. With my calatheas I rely mostly on weight and because they are divas of the plant world I check them often and I like to have a good long look to be sure that there are no unwelcome surprises and I want to add that I only use distilled water for them. With my monstera plants, I like to use the meter because some of the really large ones can hold onto moisture in their root balls. Some plants like to be bottom watered so again the meter is helpful. I agree that although there are different methods it is important to know your plant. I appreciate any advice for the health of my own "Jungle" and will continue to watch your content. Thank you.🙂

> " lifting a pot doesn't make a difference to me" It works actually well. Your mistake is to immediately know without any practice whether it's too heavy. Stop being so impatient, practice a few times, you'll get the hang of it, and if you then still can't tell the difference, then you're overwatering. For Pete's sake man, water is way heavier than potting soil! Stop sticking that soil meter in your pots, it's extremely inaccurate, and you might kill the plant, the roots or any underground shoots. You don't want to poke that metal rod in one or more spots, your plants are going to hate it. Leave the soil alone!
