One can actually over water with bottom watering. It is a function of the amount of avaiable amount of water and the amount of time the plant sits in the water.

The only way its harmful is if you make the banana water anaerobic like this video shows which invite bad bacterias, if you aerate you’ll never have issues. Lastly banana peel tea is for flowering plants. This video is hilarious 😂

Any forms of fertilizer (chemical or organic) will produce acidity while being decomposed by bacteria. That's why you need to add calcium or baking soda into your soil; especially, when yoi add fertiizer in order to balance out the PH of the soil. Even when you put too much in-orgsnic fertilizzer will result with fungus nats, which is the sign that your soil is too acidic.

How about using banana tea for outdoor plants in he garden.. Gnats should not become problem since they would be confined outdoors. I use all my fruit & veggie peelings in my trench composting in the garden to enrich the soil prior to plan my garden. I, in fact, include all my weeds in the trench composting since once they are buried, everything dies due to lack of sunlight to produce photosynthesis.

I just dug trenches in my garden last week around my pumpkins. I poured blended Bananas in the bottom, layered with whole banana peel, added powdered egg shells, topped with bunny poo and hay, covered with dirt. Do I leave it or disrupt the roots again and get it out?

Found this plant hiding outside in front of the new home I bought, it was hiding in a bush and I find it to be really pretty and it was in a plastic pot uncared for and it seemed to be doing well without any care. I bought dirt today and planted it in a big pot and have it on the side of my door outside where it is used to being. I won't bring it indoors because we like to keep our home dark in Florida due to the heat.

I think the thing to note is that banana peels are usually just thrown away, unlike the other fruits and vegetables you mentioned that are consumed.

I had five trees in my yard when I was living in South Africa, three dogs and a cat. Nothing ever happened to them. I bought the house already with the trees and I didn't know they were poisonous. I do really like them they're beautiful and give a wonderful smell to your garden. Pity I can't get one where I live now (too cold).

Hi, I live in Atlanta zone 8, and it's definitely warm and humid. I overwatered one last year in a pot, and this year I bought two more (trees) and one of them just started shriveling the inner leaves and dropping lots of green leaves too. With a soil moisture tester, it wasn't dry two inches down, but I went ahead and watered it. It's getting direct hot 90 degrees sun from noon till 4:30. The other one is still doing okay with the direct sun from 2:30-5:30. I have several holes in the pot, and it drains very well, but I don't know if I should be keeping it moist instead of letting it dry out? I don't have any yellow leaves. Should I move it to a shady place? I grow a lot of annuals in containers and a couple of Tacoma Stans yellow bells which are very easy. Thanks.

I did notice so many flys. When I put the banana fertilizer. She is right. I guess I put too much. It killed a couple of my plants. She knows what she is talking about.
