Honestly if you can't be arsed to figure out the item code for command blocks there's almost no way that you're going to take the time to learn command block use properly. I doubt this had any effect on the size of the redstone and command block communities

One thing is infinite lava sources, but another is that water can have its infinite sourcing dissabled, which will make challange maps such as skyblock extra interresting if they have the gamerule dissabled.

What minecraft needs isn't huge new features, it really just needs small things added to improve gameplay. I appreciate new biomes and that sort of stuff, but sometimes it's good to just get an update that adds small new things. I feel like minecraft's current biggest flaw is the lack of specialization, most things function the same, and adding unique details to stuff is really what I would like to see.

genuinely I do love the idea of a low-key update that's just like. polishing. there's an endless list of things the community would like to fix or change. (the continued background development of the combat system is an example of this). I'd prefer if they didn't have so much thematic stuff to focus on and more made awesome QOL changes. and you're so right: it's extremely necessary if we want the game to last as long as it can

Invisible itemframe is not a separate item. It's just a usual itemframe with nbt, like sword with an enchantment. So i don't think that they'll add it, but i guess it could be really useful for mapmakers

With infinite lava, you can make really compact infinite smelters with 4 squares of lava and a dispenser with a bucket firing intermittently

Y'know what, I'd be okay if this were a "whatever" update full of random additions and quality-of-life stuff. The past 7 or so updates have all been really big and have all had a theme to them, it wouldn't hurt to have an update that adds in a bunch of little whatevers and bits and pieces that just couldn't fit into other updates.

the moment I saw this I was both so happy and also a little sad, happy because now I can grab this straight from my inventory, but mad because I had an entire saved hotbar dedicated to command blocks, barriers, structure blocks, structure voids, the light block, the debug stick, mob spawners, ect. and it allowed me to just pull anything I need without using commands and confused the hell out of people who didn't know you could do that

I always used to have a saved hotbar with those blocks (Command Block, Barrier, Structure Void, Debug Stick, a renamed Nametag, Spawner, Light and an Anvil) I used that as a customisable inventory.

Now that monster spawners are in the creative inventory you can make a ghast spawner. That would cause a lot of damage maybe not as much as a dragon one but it would be pretty bad

Isn’t the entity render distance the same as the simulation distance?

@@penninna they're two different things. simulation distance controls mob spawning and despawning, and tick updates. Entity render distance controls how far away you can see mobs, banners and beacon beams.

1.20 Will for me be one of my favorite updates ever. already the first showcase did i get to see 2 new features i have wanted for years. Bamboo blocks. (wanted ever since tropicraft) Camels (i have wanted camels since tried them out in real life back in 2012.)

I have placed command blocks in survival mode. If you're not an OP you have effectively placed bedrock because you have to be in creative mode and be an operator to edit the command itself.

Yes I actually love those quality of life improvements like the lava conversion. I would also love to see things like attributes for player building and fighting reach or world gravity. This would make it so much more diverse and would open a lot of new map making ideas!

that infinite lava is going to make filling lava lakes so much simpler, and in modded worlds where you like pump up lava in the nether you could use it to fix the lava lake afterwards or just make it basically a default infinite source to begin with, as flowing lava in the nether could cause massive lag with those kinds of setups
