What would you do when you think no one is watching? What Would You Do? (WWYD?) explores the varying answers with the help of hidden cameras capturing individuals who have been placed within seemingly everyday situation that quickly go awry. The individuals on this hidden camera show are forced to make tough calls when directly faced with situations of racism, violence, hate crimes, and other hot button cultural issues. Catch John Quinones reporting on these individuals as they make split-second decisions to intervene or mind their own business. WWYD? airs Friday nights at 9|8c on ABC.

True story: 50 yrs ago my father saw a woman steal some meat from a small local grocer. He discreetly told the store owner who said this, “ I know, but her husband died, she’s proud and she’s struggling to feed her family, she only takes what she needs”. Honestly this is why whenever I work cash register I always make sure my drawer is closed and I have the spare key in my hand when I have my back turned. Workers can get in trouble if money is missing from their drawer getting accused of stealing. If they want to steal the extra cash I have sitting there that customers told me to keep when they didn’t want their change, then it’s not a big deal since it doesn’t count, but don’t steal from the drawer. If you are short of cash, I will personally try to help you, but don’t put my job at risk to do so.

I stole formula when I was 19 and had a baby. I wasn’t proud. I couldn’t afford it. I was a single mum and WIC paid for about 8 cans a week when she went through 10. I do feel bad about it and I would never do it now being able to pay for things, but yeah, sometimes it’s not about being a thief and just the absolute desperate need to feed your baby. Edit- 8 cans a month

when life gives you harsh times, we don't think properly or just don't know what to do. I'm only 14 but I know that when someone struggles, the first solution that comes to their head tends to be what they go with, no matter how right or wrong it is. I know people who have struggles with all this sort of stuff and I can't fully understand myself as I have not personally been through it, but the least we can all do is *try* to understand to a certain extent, imagine what it would be like if it were yourself in that situation, etc so just remember that even if you aren't proud of what you have done, so many people have been there too because that's just how life works. it can be cruel sometimes

@@ckee8437 Years ago, when ours were in diapers, we used cloth diapers except for night time or when we were out. I was bent over, scrubbing them every day in the bathtub. It was brutal. So we went to Rent-a-Center. We rented an apt size washer that hooked up to the kitchen faucet to wash them after soaking them in bleach water, and hung them out to dry. Just gotta do what you gotta do. Times are hard, but we are Americans, and we're made of sterner stuff. 💯

What if the cashier is a single mom and gets fired for her drawer being $20 short? You can get in huge trouble for being even five dollars short if you're a cashier. Working-class, minimum-wage retail workers shouldn't have to take the blame. And that's all a cashier is.
