Most of their looks are part of a result of their actions, which is why people are judging them. The girlfriend wore flip flops to COURT. That’s disrespectful, and it is an action, and it says a lot about her as a person. He doesn’t brush his teeth, and he does drugs. That’s why his teeth look like that. Sure says a lot about him. Lazy and unorganized.They’re dressed sloppy because they’re unorganized. All of that is a result of their actions and worth judging because it reflects their inner self.

"A whole empty 3rd floor" He acts as if because it's empty they should get it for free. I lived in a very large 3 floor + remodeled attic and basement. People always assumed I'd "let them stay until they got on their feet" 😂. As if another family wouldn't be noticed? Utilities wouldn't go up? Yeah, NO!!! One family member showed up. Middle of the night, U-Haul, crying, hungry kids. They were trying to play on my sympathies to force me to let them stay. They were furious when I handed them food, some money, and turned them away. I've found people usually never get on their feet, don't want to leave, and when forced to leave no matter how many months you've let them stay, the get furious anyways. Might as well save the trouble and do it right at the beginning.

In our culture, we live with our parents. They raise us and then we take care of them as they age. All in one house, all contributing. This whole idea that adults shouldn’t live with their parents is stupid. It’s called being a family. Yes, don’t be dependent on them. That’s a diff story. Edit: based on the comments, I want to highlight the last two sentences of my response above. Ofcourse if you’re an adult, you have to contribute in all aspects (financially, chores, etc). In fact, we ask our parents to slow down so that we can take over and ease their burden. This way of living also allows us to have additional property investments and increase our equity since we have many incomes under one roof. We are financially secure. Don’t let America get rich by splitting your family. Stay together and stay strong!

I don't think people have a problem with living in the same house as your parents, they have a problem with being dependent on the parents

There is a difference, particularly in American culture, than cohabitating with you parents vs still being dependent on them as an adult. When you and your parents are all adults everyone should be contributing, that is NOT what happened here
@shendisackett

@@zkarebear exactly and not just contributing financially they should be doing half the housework, half the cooking, half the laundry etc.. In the USA it’s not uncommon for us to not live in the same cities or states as our parents and grandparents. It shouldn’t be assumed that America is separating people but because people move to go to school or for job opportunities or better weather. Sometimes it’s actually the parents who move away once they retire. I have noticed some people will say it’s their culture all of the family to live together, yet there are still people from those cultures who emigrate which means breaking that tradition.

JJ, just because someone moves in with their parents doesn’t mean they are hurting financially. Sometimes it’s because the parents are ill or not as mobile. I have seen cases in my own family where the parent or aunt/uncle refused to move in with the child so the child had to move. Old people in my family can be really stubborn. Or it can be become the child need additional support in caring for their children.
