A prolific mugger riding a high speed e-bike who snatched mobile phones from 24 people in a day-long crime spree across central London has been brought to justice after being tracked by police on CCTV and arrested as he tried to escape.

But most of those are iPhones which are secured by the owners ID, so the thief can't do anything with these phones anyway, because nobody would want to buy a phone that can not be operated since it's ID locked

Agreed with the sentiment but all you have to do is look at the figures, crime rates based on arrests and convictions would tell a very different story. But that's looking at the end result and not so much how it got that way. Rather simply, access to education, quality of living, quality of housing, access to work etc plays a surprisingly large part, hell single mother households have a fuckload to answer for here, 50% chance to be in jail based on that alone is pretty tucked. To be perfectly honest the lack of real handling of these criminals in a just manner also plays heavily into these things. Again, understand the sentiment, but the facts quite literally say otherwise
