Welcome to today's clean with me! In today's video I'm turning my living room into a gym and throwing out my couch! Come clean with me! I know it seems crazy but the couch and lounging aspect was not working out with the animal messy hair and paw print cushions anymore, so I made the choice to just throw it out and turn my living room into a more spacious play and gym area for us. Our basement has full gym equipment but we can not access much space for non heavy lifting exercise and that is what I have been trying to do more of. My youngest also enjoys practicing her gymnastics cartwheels, splits, and hand stands in here. It is kind of inconvenient without seating but the kitchen table has a couple chairs and the girls each have a desk and chair in their room to chill at. My husband works a lot and not sitting on the couch has allowed me to stick to my routines more also. I started this transformation off with some deep cleaning of the living room. I dusted, cleaned the windows and floor and then set everything up! I think this is a great idea! I am so proud of you for keeping your goals in mind and doing what is best for you and your family. Don’t worry what anyone else thinks. It will be so much easier to clean and your family will be less tempted to sit and watch tv. We’ve even thought of getting rid of our recliners because it is too easy to sit in them too much.

That's beautiful! Congrats on your progress. I promise if you keep it up you will feel better and better. I am a year into my health journey and have lost 40 pounds, reversed my prediabetes, and lowered my cholesterol a 100 points just by doing what you are doing and adding in things as I go. I feel amazing, like the last 20 years never happened almost. I wish I would have done this when i was younger but I had to find my own way (the hard way). Also, you still are very much in mom mode so anything you are able to do while still in the trenches is awesome. My son is 21 and not living at home which made everything so much easier. Bye couch! My sweet little 15 pound dog has literally eaten my outdoor furniture and an indoor couch. The only way to stop her is to keep her off of things so I just pile pillows everywhere so she can't get up.😆

I have 2 living rooms and 2 sets of furniture that NO ONE sits on lol i DEFINITELY want to do something different with my second one. A gym sounds like the way to go to be honest. Ill get more use out of it lol

Yes it’s great and using temporary things makes it an easy switch if you need. My mirrors are up with command strips. Add a mat and your extra goodies and your set. I’m going to bring my exercise bike up as well

I would buy new couch, keep my living room clean and livable! The dogs have to go, or train them not to get on my furniture. I have a doggy, and you can’t even tell!!!!!!

I remember when you purchased that couch and how much you loved it. I’m sorry, but the dogs would have to go to another wonderful home. It seem like they will tear/chew up anything new you bring in. Do you have company over at all?

Yes eventually we will get one again. I think I’m gonna build one but but no big deal for now. We don’t really have company our house is small. The kids friends hang in their room and they have beds and desks with chairs.

Everyone is different, some people don't care if their couch smells like dog ,I personally wouldn't want to sit on a couch covered in hair or dog stink ! I love my cows but I wouldn't want to sleep or sit where they lay! I love my cat but I'm more than sure he would rather be outside than locked up in a house like a caged animal!

It turned out really nice!!!! I know from other comments it’s just temporary but do you worry about getting more furniture in the future with keeping the newest dog around? I know you worry about Conner missing him if you rehomed him, but maybe you could get Conner a much smaller brother or sister like a chihuahua. 🤣 🤣

Hahaha we have all said it. He recently pooped in the house once during a storm. We have all agreed if that continues we will have to refine him but otherwise we are considering training to keep them off furniture. However when we leave it’s still a problem so they may need crates again and we don’t have the space for them because Conner won’t go in the basement. Lol A small dog sounds great they are barely any effort lol

@@MomLikely I’m sure y’all will figure it out! I just hope you don’t feel too terrible if it comes down to rehoming him. I would charge a rehoming fee etc. We had to rehome a dog when we moved to the Carolina’s and the family that adopted him is amazing. We are still in touch 6 years later! Loving the content. So glad you’re back and you seem so happy!

How often do you clean? Not very often apparently. Rhe gym idea probably wont last You would have lost weight if youd been cleaning regularly. 😂 Looks like you never even pulled out the couch and cleaned behind it. That's why you got rid of it .

I wanted to get rid of the newest but I felt so bad for my kids and other dog missing him. He is such a loving dog but there size is hard on furniture my living room has been so clean since I did this. I can easily vacuum every day lmao

Glad somebody said it before me!!!!!!!! I wasn't going to live with poor air quality or have my home overtaken by dogs!!!!Those dogs would be in the pasture with my cows ,with plenty of water food and shade!! A cat might be ok but a dog NO they stink up your home and furniture!!!

@@MomLikelyI have a log cabin with all real hardwood floors and my 1 dog is 4 years old and has been peeing on the floor since I got him as a puppy I have done everything to try to stop it but no luck, so u could imagine spots all over the floor discolored 😢 but I would never get rid of a dog that’s for sure he is family!! ❤ but it’s very frustrating

Wow!!I know you love your dogs ,and please I don't mean any harm,but why would you allow your dogs to destroy what you work hard to get for your home to be nice??now a gym ,do you not have family and friends that come visit ?I guess it's just me.whatever you do I'm sure it will be ok your home your ideas.

No not much guests unless its a birthday party. We usually go out because our home is smaller. All would have been well but we allowed the dogs on the furniture. And our first dog was ok but the newest is so large by default he tore the fabric with his claws and anxiety issues after that. I’m sure we will get a couch again one day in the future.
