First - It was so great to see Mama Joyce again. She was such a wonderful inspiration to all of us. And second - I don’t think you talked too much at all. I’m sure your sweet Mama enjoyed the encouraging comments you were making. Great memory for us AND you. And being a quilter myself, I hope you will share some quilts that she made.

Loved watching your mother making chicken and dumplings. Growing up, we had a lot of different greens that was picked after the frost. Your mom reminded me of my mind, when they set their mind to something they did it. How precious it must be for you to go back and watch her. Many times, I wished we had video my mother cooking.

Oh gosh. It's so good seeing your Mama again. And how good to see someone make dumplings how I knew growing up. Dropped, not rolled out. Her story reminds me partly of me and partly of my grandma, who raised me. I've always loved watching her. Thank you for sharing her with all of us. ❤

The old timey dumplins are the best. That's how my mother made em. I know a lot of people make them out of strips of dough like pizza crust looking stiff. I don't care for those either. What a blessing Mama was. I miss seeing her. Happy New Year Marshall.

That’s how my grandma made chicken and dumplings. I grew up in WV, my grandma was one of the best cooks around. She made the best biscuits! I wish she was still here to cook for me. I have been living in AL since the 80s. They don’t make those light fluffy dumplings down here. They roll their dumplings out and slice them into little pieces. To me, they’re just doughy tasting and I don’t like them at all. FINALLY see someone making dumplings the way I love them! Thank you!

I just boiled a whole chicken for chicken & noodles over mash tators but I don’t make homemade noodles like my grandma made & so I buy Reames in the freezer to be as close to hers as I can. I froze some broth w chicken in it for Thanksgiving. It’s just me & my 23 yr old Grandson. But I loved your Momma & her videos. I enjoy the talkin. Thxs for sharing. Old days was simple w not much for seasoning & all. Best of times though. Dark meat adds flavor 😂, I made a small batch of chicken salad too 😋 She is right, a lot less to do in old days.

I am so sorry that your mama is gone now. That was a precious video with her telling her stories was it a little long-winded yes but I really enjoyed hearing the story of her life a little bit. Thank you so much for both of you sharing she makes her chicken and dumplings just like my mama made, my mom is gone now too but that looks just like she made it even the way she used the flower to make the dumplings. The only differences my mom would boil the chicken and take the chicken out and leave the broth in the fridge overnight and then the next day she would take off the fat that comes to the top that got hardened, and then she would use strictly the chicken broth so that it didn’t have so much fat in it, now we all know that these kind of chicken and dumplings with those homemade dumplings is not calorie friendly, but boy is it good!! ❤
