Brittany, your mother looks like your sister:-) all of your sisters are very beautiful as well. I'm not just talking about just outside I'm talking about inside where it counts. May your light only get brighter. No wonder your mother is such a lady she's from South Carolina. We tend to breed them like that. LOL

Damn your Mama look young, nice to see her on the motherland. I do understand why your Mama and many other Africa Americans of her generation have this cathartic connection to Ghana and west Africa. The culture pilgrimage for AA is felt more in Ghana than Kenya, seeing the slave castle, hearing the personal accounts of their African ancestors directly from their descendants have more deep culture meaning. Also, the colonial power did not have a grip in west Africa like they did in Zimbabwe, Kenya, Namibia and SA. Next time she visits Kenya try to get her out of Westland, Masai Mara and Diani beach expats and touristic bubbles and take her where we really Kenyans reside and are ready to welcome her

Ive been in Lagos Nigeria and honestly its a good time for tourist to come because the dollar actually gained intrest in naria ive been here 6 months and when i came 1 dollar was 900 now its 1620 it actually went to 1880 at one time so its definitely a wise move especially if you investing into land in property because Nairobi Kenya and accra ghana is way more expensive then lagos its a gold mine for investors especially before it becomes to expensive

I once worked with AA lady and she told me most AA women prefer big men majorly from west africa Nigeria and Ghana Senegal etc, also west Africa has more food options than kenya i agree since ave also worked with nigerian lady for 1year,but something about the continent,I feel most foreigners see that west Africa has more African identity than the other parts but my view is Africa being a very diverse continent, each region has its unique ways of portraying, in northern, east, central, south everything is different so I usually don't get it when someone say the northern gives more African vibes than the other regions even some expect it to be the same

Sorry for you and your mom to have an inconvenient experience in Nigeria, unfortunately this may very be the most challenging time in Nigeria in decades in terms of the cash. They just passed a law to change the currency which is creating a terrible crunch and queues. Hope she has an opportunity to visit again at a different time and has a better experience! You still need to visit Lagos - AFTER the elections :)

Lagos and Abuja are not necessarily re O representative of Nigeria culturally. Lagosians and Abuja residents tend to put on a front. Before you can generalize about Nigeria, you have to visit other places in the country that are not as cosmopolitan.

@@johnnwabuforudemezue1108 and what makes you think naira has value than cedi? Naira is the most useless paper on earth. Naira is no longer money, it is a useless paper. Ask any Nigerian living in Ghana, it is so useless and trash to the point where 20 naira cannot buy one sachet water in Ghana. Meanwhile, send just one cedi to Nigeria and convert and see how many things it can buy. Just one cedi, not 5 cedis, not 10 cedis, just one, single one, meanwhile, a whole 20 naira if you convert to cedis, it cannot buy 1 sachet water in Ghana. You are talking about cedi? maybe you forgot that naira is rubbish.

Nevertheless one man’s meat is another man’s poison, one would like a nation, and the other likes another nation, it’s not about your opinion and experiences. Your Mom is awesome, the way she’s answers your question is so amazing, she’s so wise with full of wisdom, is not about competition, every nation has something special. Please stop the comparison. I'm Nigerian. I just suspect that Kenya has more external influences so is a bit more "straight" than West Africa. The flip of that is it appears that Kenya is also more systematic. There's probably an inverse relationship between those two things. So the more formal you are you operate better but you lose some of that native traditional charm.

digital currency is life changing bro. i haven't stepped into a banking hall in years, nor queued at an ATM, nor physically paid ANY bill. In Kenya you can do ANY transaction (withdrawals/deposits, loans) from any corner of the country. Give it a chance, you will be forever grateful for it. #Mpesa

@Demikhay Africa 🅃🅅 I think some people just hate change for what it is, without giving it a try. So many business have been built around mobile money. Kenyan Banks literally felt the pinch when their dominance and market share dropped in favour of Mpesa. They now all have mobile banking products, and traditional retail banking is pretty stagnant, if not declining. I hope Tin Man can do more research before throwing the baby out with the bathwater.

I think your mom is right, she's comfortable with what she already knows and it's her safe zone Because as a Nigerian, I really do not see myself even Living in any of the northern states in Nigeria, not to talk about living in any African country because I have this gut feeling that it's the same So when I think of traveling I think of Asia Oceania, north and south America, and Europe But I'll never live permanently over there due to my culture of not forgetting my roots

@@kenyanlivingabroad I agree with you to a very large extent. Britney has been in Ghana and has been in Kenya too. After visiting Ghana and Kenya, she thinks that Kenya is a better option for her. Her mom has also visited 3 countries so far and out of the 3, she also thinks that Ghana is a way better option, that's okay. GoBlack2Africa prefers Tanzania but his wife thinks Ghana is a way better option. The truth is that preferences and choices vary from one person to another. Lets learn to accept people's choices they make. One thing we must all understand is that all of us in the diaspora can't choose Ghana. Highly impossible!
