The Disney store classic dolls moulds get individually updated every few years. Last year the 2020 doll moulds that got updated were Elsa, Anna, Jasmine, Rapunzel and I think Mulan got a slight change too. This years dolls that got updated (in the cardboard box release) were Snow White (she’s been released with a much more porcelain skin tone and I think some slight changes to her mould), Pocahontas new face mould and I think a slight adjustment in skin tone, Aurora got a new face mould, Tiana got a darker skin tone, and Elsa and Anna got released with the new outfits (last years dolls were the original frozen 1 outfits.)

I feel that toy companies could save on plastic by not giving dolls brushes that they don’t need, because I literally have two medium sized ziploc bags full of Monster High and Ever After High brushes that I don’t use.

Love this packaging idea but if Mattel started doing this we’d never get to make sure we’re not getting a doll with a messed up face😂 which is a common thing with barbies nowadays

I have washed all Merida dolls hair with cold water and then scrunched it with a towel can help make the curls be more bouncy. I have a hair detangler spray for curly and wavy hair which helped a lot when brushing the hair. Not only her hair is nice and soft but also bouncy and curly. Hope this helps mommy!

I love the recycling aspect but seeing the exact doll you're getting is so important as a doll collector. They could have a messed up face & hair and could be missing accessories. Even with a display stand, they could easily picked the best looking one to display. They should either use a smaller window of plastic or use better plastic.

i really love the disney store doll line because i'm a collector who cares a lot about quality but i'm also like, poor as heck and can't afford the bigger fancier stuff. plus, i've been building my collection slowly over a really long time, and it's really nice that though the line updates their sculpts/dresses fairly frequently, it's never so drastic a change that the new ones and old ones don't look right grouped together. awesome to see they're doing much more eco-friendly packaging! EDIT: im further into the video lol and i have solid proof they can do merida's hair well!! my collection started with a merida my mom gifted me when her movie came out and the hair is soft and super big and curly, and she comes with pretty high quality dress and cape, too! i don't know exactly where she got it but still, i don't know why the disney store merida's since then have gone down in quality so much.

I really wished they change them up a bit everytime they rerelease them. Like something different with the dresses or something, instead of changing the accessory they come with.

I have the Merida doll from the old packaging and I love her hair there. It was designed a lot better because you can see the doll displayed. Unlike the new packaging where you cannot see the doll inside, so i guess Disney didn't bother fixing her hair.

I think those new packagings are a huge plus in every way. They're better for the environment, they look better, they leave the doll in better condition, they serve as a play set and they are reusable.

Remember when Melissa and Kayden took Anna and Elsa to the store and went school supplies shopping for them it was hilarious

I used to collect dolls around 5 years ago. I had to let go a lot of them because my family didn’t approve and I was embarrassed to show them off. I still dream of customizing at least one doll. No matter what, Disney dolls will always have a special in my heart no matter what age ✨💕✨

You dont need to cut the rubber ties. You could keep them and reuse them to style the hair.

I’m all for less wasteful packaging, but as someone who likes to pick the best looking doll, it’s kinda disappointing that you can’t see what the doll you pick will look like.😕

I watched frozen 2 once and it was in theatres. The only complaint I have about Frozen 2 is her dress. She had capes in every outfit. Coronation & Let it Go. Then in the second movie they have a cape split in two little fabric flowy sleeves thingys. And I wanted Elsa to stay the Queen of Arendale. Then, at the end of the movie they change personalities. Elsa the free happy and relaxed. And now Anna is the introvert, calm, prim, and proper.

My sister's room is disney princesses and she has the toddler dolls. I wanted to get her the hasbro 13" dolls but never thought about how they looked. I almost bought a 12 pack of all the princesses instead of the individual ones too.

I giggled whenever the doll fell out of the box.

In my experience the disney store quality in dolls is way better than the parks.

I love the new packaging too. I only have three of them so far but disney store classic dolls were what started my doll collecting journey. I agree that the disney store makes the best disney princess (and prince) dolls. I have a Merida from 2019 her hair was geled then too. It looks a lot better after i washed it.

Omg, I’d love to buy these! My twin sister and I were SO obsessed with dolls all of our lives. We hadn’t had the chance to play with them anymore as we’re growing up (we’re still minors btw). Recently, we both decided that we wanted to start collecting dolls again! We really love this new set of Disney princesses, and the fact that we can buy all of them with this same version makes it even more exciting. Thanks for making this video. I love the way you’re so joyful when you talk about dolls. Hopefully soon we’ll be able to buy them. I saw the Elsa and Anna Frozen 2 dolls of this version with their extra dresses in a local toy store!

i remember going to meet tiana at the afterparty when i was little! there was a huuuuge line to see her but my mom really wanted a picture of me with her so we waited. she was the only princess i got to see but it was worth it

Wowww, absolutely amazing, the box, the faces, the possibility, the outfits are really nice, even the brushes are really detailed. Out of all the play line disney dolls, I would choose these, they are really good and I can totally see myself using the packaging as a backdrop for the dolls.

My daughter loves Merida it is so hard to find anything to do with her she does not like frozen and she has meltdowns every time it comes on my daughter also has autism so it’s very heartbreaking that I have to go on a hunt and spend all this kind of money just to find my daughters favorite Disney character so this is so cool that they have this new box thing I hope that they were going to bring more of the characters from brave out with it because I would be so awesome for my daughter

I've always heard Disney Store was better than Disney Parks. I have the Snow White, Alice, and Wendy dolls. The Snow White is probably the prettiest of all of them. Wendy and Alice are adorable. Highly recommend them. They also make Esmeralda, Megara, and Tinker Bell. They made a Christmas doll last year. Ariel. I'm hoping that becomes an annual thing. I also am hoping they release Kida for the movie's 20th anniversary.

The new boxes are also the new Disney park dolls I think cause the brushes say Disney parks on them.

This is just a bother for me but it bothers me that Tiana didn't come with her long gloves but Belle did. I noticed that's just a thing with Tiana dolls and it took me a long time to find one that did have gloves.

Plastic packaging Belle just looks more rumpled in general, which is really interesting! The cardboard packaging Belle looks pristine, not rumpled in the slightest. plastic Packaging Belle's dress is stupid wrinkled too, her hair is fussed, her head is still cajinkered..

Before *2015 the fabric used for the Disney Store dresses was silky, soft and flowy,* but in recent years they switched over to the cheaper plastic type that wrinkles if you sit the dolls down. They even use the same brittle playline fabrics on the $140 Limited Edition Designer dolls now. The Disney Parks dolls used to be different, and higher quality from the ones sold at the Disney Store, but they've officially canceled the fancier Disney Parks doll line, and will be selling the same $19.99 shopdisney dolls at the Parks now, only that they will be $25 at the parks because everything is pricier at Disney World. The new dolls are the same exact dolls from every other year only that they used to cost $14.99, but now they charge $19.99 because cardboard boxes are more expensive to produce then plastic window boxes that allowed you to check for errors eye paint mistakes and messy hair before buying them. The older dolls used to have pointed toes, and high heels for characters like Elsa who has pretty ice crystal heels in the movie, but they all have flat feet and flat shoes which most doll collectors dislike because they have duck feet now, and it looks like they are walking on mini canoe boats.

My only gripe with the new Anna and Elsa packaging is that my Elsa's neckline of her dress has super messed up stitching and I couldn't see that ahead of time :(... Though, I swapped her dress with the very similar white dress that came on the Elsa and Nokk set, which I prefer as it's glittery like Anna's dress! Though I do love the concept of the new boxes.

I love these dolls, they are beautiful. Sadly Tiana is missing her gloves once again. She seems to get the short end of the stick.

A lot of the dolls with the new packaging are unchanged from the last release, but a few of them like Pocahontas Jasmine and Snow White have updated skin tones, and a couple like Tinkerbell have slightly updated outfits. Also, the Elsa and Anna from the new boxes are using their Frozen 2 outfits, but the previous release had them in their Frozen 1 outfits.
