The tale of Momotaro, Peach Boy, and his adventure. Why does he get cute animal companions? And was this tale used for propaganda?

there is usually a godly protection covering the baby like a seed shell,or the gods will tell the parents to cut the part where the baby is protected by an object, usually a seed.

It is said that it was born from the peach in general. In the old days, the original was that the old man and the old woman who ate peaches were rejuvenated. After that, it's the same as your parents.

if they did it wouldn't be that great of a story now would it XD "once upon a time was an old couple who really wanted a child. one day they found a really big peach and they cut it open, however there was a baby inside and they had killed him. the couple would then be always hunted by the ghost of this failed gift, the end"

In the story as I knew it, his parents had been samurai back when farmers could be samurai, but then a caste system had come into place, so they had to settle down and be farmers, but his father knew all the old samurai skills, and taught Momotaro how to fight, had a suit of armor etc for him, and knew to send Momotaro to teachers to learn writing and ethics "shu shin" "the good life". After all that exercise and homework, gallivanting across the countryside with animals was probably pretty fun.

The Post-war Japanese re-interpretation of the story is, “The Demons” were actually some native islanders minding their own business, and it was Momotaro and his thugs who suddenly invaded, terrorized, and pillaged the natives. There was a viral ad that depicted Momotaro’s bloody “feat” from a demon kid`s perspectives.

I've been re-writing the Momotaro story off and on for a few years now, ever since I saw the Pepsi CM with the Japanese actor Oguri Shun. I was hoping it was an actual movie, but was in fact ONLY a CM. The CM as split in several parts, including Jude Law as the bird. I'm hoping to make a Momotaro remake manga. *My version gives Momotaro actual parents, not just the elderly couple* connects each of the 3 animals to the Oni via mini side stories.

Now that we just got a release on The Untold Story of Pecharunt from the Official Pokemon Channel, I had to look at the original inspiration. So, Pecharunt is Momotaro. His companions are the Loyal 3. And Ogrepon herself is the Ogre of demon island. Both hate each other for lore reasons and committed murder But in the Pokemon version of this Lore, the Ogre won the fight and killed the Loyal 3. That left Pecharunt beaten up so hard by Ogrepon out of bloody revenge for Pecharunt implicitly murdering her Trainer using the Loyal 3. Damn. That is fun. But the fact that it was used as Nursey propaganda, damn that is scary. Filipino history never left that short stint of Japanese imperialism behind. Despite much better relations today, man ... Nursery Propaganda. Always scary to use.

This video should talk about "Kibitsuhiko". Kibitsuhiko is believed to be Momotaro's model in Japan. He subjugated the barbarians by order of the ancient Emperor Sujin. As an interesting episode, there are rumors that the ancestor of the 29th Prime Minister of Japan, Inukai Tsuyoshi, is "a dog" that followed Momotaro in this video. His family name, Inukai, means "dog owner" and his ancestor was one of Kibitshiko's followers.
