Oh my gosh! The fact that Josh came back and validated Sebas’ mom on the fact that being a mom is hard no matter if you are single mom or have a partner. Giving her credit shows what a phenomenal person Josh is and kuddos to his mom she raised him into the man he is 😭😭😭

You can tell Sebas mom went through a lot of silent struggles and put herself aside a lot for her family! I don’t think she gave herself enough credit! I see a lot of comments talking about Josh’s mom but they’re both equally incredible inspiring woman who did a phenomenal job doing life’s hardest job regardless of the cards dealt to them ♥️

The comments are crazy, but I do think both Josh and Sebas did great in validating and making both of them feel special. Must I add… Josh’s mother did add during her labor story that she did not have a voice either and her husband at that time made a decision (that should of been hers to begin with) to have him naturally which she did not want. So I can’t imagine what other struggles she went through. Both sound amazing women, goes to show how women had it back then.

To Sebas mom: please don’t be afraid to express how hard it is for moms in a married relationship regardless, moms in a relationship have it just as hard . I think everyone fails to recognize that even though we have a stable relationship with a husband always gone and us always in charge of kids really takes a toll on our emotional health and the feelings of isolation. (Josh thank you for recognizing and acknowledging that either status is equally as hard)

Absolutely true ! I felt this 💯 yes we have hard working husbands and always providing for us but it’s hard being in charge of the kids 24/7. It’s mentally and physically exhausting however how do you express that without being told you’re complaining, or it being too hard to handle. I feel like some days are easier than others, when we are at 20% and your husband is at 80% even after a long day, pick up some of her slack it’s called being a team. ❤

I feel like we don’t hear that we’re doing a great job often. So thank you I feel like I really needed that. Your moms are amazing beautiful and they did amazing at raising the both of you. Had to pause to write this.. @ 53:19 Thank you Josh for crediting Sebas mom when it came to raising kids even with having a partner. This is by far the best episode. Both moms have a different perspective of parenting. There is no wrong, or right. Some moms specially in the Hispanic culture put up with a lot, and stay quiet to keep their family together. It is a sacrifice to be a stay at home wife, and put your kids first. It is also a struggle to be a single mom and not see your kids grow. I love this real life topics as opposed to “influencers”. Keep it going La Platica!

When you have children sebas... you will see the "I love you" the affection that your father maybe never showed you. Something about the grandchildren that brings it out naturally in the grand dads ❤

True, but sadly as a person who has an unavailable emotional father, he’s still the same. Doesn’t show affection and seems to get worse with age 😔

I get what you are saying but I have also seen people feel resentment or jealousy that they didn’t get that affection or attention from their dad…like why couldn’t you be like that with me type of emotion

I never leave comments for whatever reason but wow my hat comes off to you both and the beautiful culture you’ve created in media. With the conversations in English and Spanish I felt like I was in my own household. What a powerful, beautiful, and honor it is to be Mexican American and to be raised by Latina women. LOVE LOVE LOVE!

Sentir la presencia de un padre es tan importante como su presencia fisica. En una familia el balance es importantisimo. Pero siempre es importante reconocer el esfuerzo y el amor de una madre. Sebas' mom was very intentional and selfless in her choice as a mother figure and that is absolutely HUGE! Kudos to her. Las dos mama's escogieron lo mejor para ellas y esto es lo mas importante y admirable. Being a mom is a dedication that comes with selfless love.

Hearing Josh’s mom talk about leaving his dad is so nice. I know many women are on a boat. Being with someone but not showing love or respect is enough for you to walk away.

I love how you guys didn’t want Sebas mom to be discredited for being a stay at home mom! Being a stay at home is a a huge role as well as being a working mom ❤️ this episode is one of my faves 🥹

Hearing both moms with two completely different perspectives was insaneeee, both extremely accomplished in their own right, as a sahm I hope to one have my kids talk about me the way Sebas did about his mom, if this podcast didn’t make you cry idk what will. Amazing, we need them back.

It's so nice seeing the perspective of two beautiful women who have raised 2 amazing men. Mom of 2 boys here, this is some of the best advice I've gotten ❤️. Such an incredible episode 👏🏼

Hands down THE BEST EPISODE!!!! I honor and value both Moms! From a dedicated wife who put herself last to raise her children because it’s our duty but we do it out of love… to Josh’s mom who had enough respect and courage to leave a situation with Josh being a baby.. so admirable!!!! I laughed and cried and now want them as permanent guest. They are not influencers on social media but influencers where it mattered and matters the most!!!

Hearing you guys validate a mom in different situations married/single and praising, loving, respecting showing your mom’s “work” of a mother is admirable and makes myself as a single mom feel better. Side note both your moms look like actresses de telenovelas ❤❤❤

I am a 26 yr old sahm with 2 boys and I genuinely love staying home with my babies but gosh is this hard & lonely. Even more being on a budget I don’t have the ability to splurge on myself, go to a store and buy the things my kids would love but my husband is such a hustler that he makes it possible for me to stay home and care for our kids. I also couldn’t imagine being a single mother and not having a supportive spouse to fall back on when things get difficult. Props to all of us mom’s for always putting our babies future & needs before ours that’s the sacrifice us mom’s have to do to raise amazing kids.

One day I would like to hear more about Josh's story. Hearing how at times all he had was $7 in his pocket to now being very successful is beyond inspiring. In addition to him being so humble and kind. Josh, you truly are one of my inspirations, your kindness, hard work, and drive to succeed is truly amazing. I wish you all the best, you are kind person and it is seen through the way you speak and treat other.
