Not sure if anyone mentioned it, but this song was composed after Mon caught his BF cheating on her it affected her so badly she wanted to commit Suicide, it's about a crumbling relationship and the aftermath but how she could still "endure his lack of love", truly heartbreaking Saludos desde chile 🇨🇱

Mon Laferte says she wasn’t appreciated in her youth in Chile so she decided she’d come to Mexico and become Mexican . She struggled singing at metro stations and selling her self recorded CD , she was discovered got her actual name and applied for citizenship , you have to stay in the country without traveling for 5 years and she did that . She became a superstar

que no fue apreciada en Chile? estos mexicanos inventando historias, mon laferte(Monserrat Bustamente) fue una de las participantes del programa de televisión Rojo fama contra fama, ahí se hizo famosa, si bien no gano, todos los Chilenos detectamos su talento, fue muy famosa acá en Chile, pero para seguir su carrera decidio nacionalizarse mexicana debido a que el mercado de musica hispana es mas amplio en mexico, solo por eso, ella es de sangre Chilena y el orgullo Chileno se lleva en la sangre, los mexicanos jamás lo entenderían.

@@rodolfodiazg te sugiero le digas a Mon Laferte que no diga “mentiras” entonces porque eso fue lo que ha relatado ella en múltiples entrevistas y menos veas el video donde se expresa emotivamente cuando recibió la ciudadanía mexicana que ella solicitó. Parafraseando a Chabela Vargas, nacida en Costa Rica y mexicana de corazón , cuando un periodista costarricense la cuestionó :”los mexicanos nacemos donde nos da la chingada gana” y ups , Mon e incluso la Española Natalia ex de la Quinta Estación que relata historia similar a Mon, han usado esa frase varías veces , así que, qué te digo ?

That show took place in the "Festival de Viña del Mar" , the city where Mon Laferte born. She went to Chile after many years living in Mexico, that also generated on her special emotions during the show.

Podrían agregar al set de reacciones a la Banda chilena Los Jaivas 🇨🇱 (en los '60s se llamaban The High Bass por la altura de sus integrantes, después se chilenizó de como se pronunciaba y quedó Los Jaivas) con un amplio repertorio de 60 años, tracks como Todos Juntos, Mambo de Machaguay, Mira Niñita, La Conquistada, Alturas de Machu Pichu, Canción del Sur, Aconcagua, etc, etc... Second comment: I think she's doing fine now. She is from a poor family (single mom) in Chile and as a young girl was making some money singing in bars and night clubs... at age 13 or 14 she was picked up by a guy who was like 30 years older than her who abused her for several years, always promising he would make her a famous artist, but of course nothing happened, he just fucked her... He was one of the reasons why she went to Mexico after she finally found the strength to run away from him, she wanted a new start in a place where nobody knew her, and it was only in Mexico that she became a famous artist, and she made it on her own... This song you just heard was the one that laid the foundation for her career, she had put a video of it on her KZfaq channel, very raw, just her and her cat and dog in her room, she playing the acoustic guitar and singing the song. The video (it's still available, I'll link it at the end...) went viral and after that she was offered her first record deal. Meanwhile she has six great albums out... Mon is an adorable woman who now also is engaged in a lot of social work with underprivileged women, and she's a painter and visual artist as well, if you continue down the road you will find she does a lot of her stage design with beautiful huge dolls and other things... Hello Andrei and Dominika. I love your reactions. I've been watching you and subscribed for about 3 months now. I love that you express your feelings and emotions that the songs draw out from you. Mon Laferte has done two different Tiny Desk sessions. One with Juanes in the little shop you are familiar with. The other which I highly recommend is with a group of excellent musicians filmed in a small church somewhere in Mexico. She is pregnant in the session so it was around two or three years ago as she is now a mom. It is 18 minutes long. She does 4 songs. She is so full of emotion and energy. I hope you treat yourselves to this gift of hers. Wishing you continued success at music exploration.
