Lyrics are as follows: If I had about 45 dollars I'll go, I'll go I'd be rich like old man Carnegie Wealth untold This old hammer killed a kid John Henry Killed him dead, yes he killed him dead Knocked the brains out of my partner In his head, lord in his head Now I'm going don to Louisiana far away, it's so far away and I'm gonna see my Ezmerelda I can't stay, no I can't stay It was me, myself and my friend Paul ran up the hill and over the wall somebody asked me, "was it any fun?" most I've ever had and I hardly begun If I had about 45 dollars I'll go, I'll go I'd be rich like old man Carnegie Wealth untold

No, my mom was though.

I believe it says “all in gold” instead of “ill go, I’ll go”
@KevinGroninga3D3 жыл бұрын
And instead of Carnegie, it’s ‘Cartier’. I see several mistakes in this interpretation of his lyrics. Either way, it’s still a cool little tune and Michealo is the bomb!

As someone who’s been learning the jaw harp I hope to get this sound and be able to mix my music with it this fluently 🖤

Different harps have different sounds so you might not be able to get exactly the same sound.

As an aspiring jaw harp player, I’ve watched this video nearly 200 times! Michaelo, nicely done my brother! You are the definition of ‘cool’! Play on!

Props to Jake Peters for the lyrics but I want to propose an alternative. Instead of the 2nd line being "I'll go, I'll go," I think it should be, "All in gold, all in gold." Makes a bit more sense and creates a better rhyme. Also, I hear a harmonica in the background rather than a fiddle.
@SirMrShanks8 жыл бұрын
Think that is the actual lyric for it... That does also seem to be a harmonica in the back.

It's an old work song from the turn of the century. I not sure what the name of the song is. Michaelo uncovered it in travels so thirty years ago. Try to get the lyrics of the video. Good Luck!

Is Mondo Blue still performing? Did they ever record any of their work. Really enjoy what they have done and would hope for more. Any Idea where or who would have preformed or developed the jaw harp song.

It's important to avoid plucking outwards. If plucking outwards you have to apply much more pressure, the harp might snap back, the tone tends to be less clean and it shortens the harp's lifespan. The guy in the video plays it correctly inwards..

What’s this song called he’s singing
@gamAK4710 жыл бұрын
I tried to, but he smudges the endings(as well some middle places), so I understand either first line or just ripped out words, which I can't combine into flowing sense. (Unfortunately, English is not my native, and I used to Canadian English, so I can't pick up this pronunciation)

Hello - Does playing of this jaws harp hurt your teeth and erode away your enamel and cause pain in the long run?
@DieWolfen7 жыл бұрын
The jaw harp is not intended to make contact with the user's teeth. The correct way is to use your lips.
@heinerschau82717 жыл бұрын
DieWolfen There are different kinds of Jaw Harps. That what he plays is the same I use. And it has contact with the teeth. But if you use it correct it will not harm you or damage your teeth.
