The Damien vs. Seth match was so good. But the botch killed the whole thing, its clear that Damien was waiting for some sort of cue, the ref knew not to count to three but had to make himself look a fool to continue the match for the cash-in. And Seth stayed in typical character and was in disbelief as to what happened. But you can tell that all of those men in that match, including Punk in a way, was furious. Something went wrong, might have been a backstage issue. I think Punk could have screwed Drew right before he grabbed the briefcase and just let Jey win, but we didn't get that. Like Santi said, this feud didn't need to waste the MITB briefcase.

They gave Drew the case because it was the easiest and fastest way to get rid of it. WWE probably already has the next year planned out for both titles and the briefcase just doesn't fit in anywhere. They didn't want someone to potentially hold on to the briefcase for a whole year with no plans for it.

Tbf Sami defeated GUNTHER, longest reigning IC and a monster at that, beating Bron shouldve been not a surprise… although Bron shouldve took more finishers to still be seen as a monster, one finisher is eh

It would've been better if Sami won but Bron walked out while Sami was stretchered out (Like Triple H vs. Undertaker). Then, a rematch at SummerSlam.

This show confused me so much, it had endless potential, the men’s MITB ladder match had arguably the worst possible winner in the long term, Bron Breakker should NOT have lost clean to a guy half his size at this point, and the WHC title match was shaping up to be the best match of Damian Priest’s career, but the confusing ending brought it from a 9/10 to a 6/10, but at least the bloodline match was good, and the women’s MITB match was INCREDIBLE, Zoey Stark proved herself by being apart of like every big bump in the MITB match.

Santi is just bitter that his prediction of Jey winning didn’t happen. Let’s be honest, Jey is not a good wrestler. I thought Drew was a good decision (Gable would’ve too). It would’ve been miles better if Drew keeps it and cashes against Punk in the future (Punk winning in WHC). That would’ve been a good booking decision imo

I feel like Drew had the best direction with the briefcase. I’m sorry people but I feel like jey is not gonna win the world title until he’s done with the bloodline story. Chad gable winning wouldn’t do anything because the Wyatt’s would get involved. Actually looking back at it, everyone would have a target on their back if they won. I mentioned two already, but if Andrade won he would be costed by legado, if La knight won it, Logan is clowning, if Carmelo won, Apollo and Corbin costing him. The briefcase woulda felt wasted anyways. I feel like Drew had the best narrative since he was doing this to get at punk because he thought punk was at his house recovering from that beating, and he wanted to get back at priest for cashing in on him which caused this spiral of insanity.

Bronn Breakker is destined to win IC title in Summerslam

What was the point of building up Bron Breakker just to have him lose very clean. It also destroys the current Sami Zayn and how he’s always viewed as the underdog. We as the audience aren’t going to buy him as the underdog anymore if he beat Gunther and Bron clean 😭.

1st of all, I think Jeff Hardy's move was the whisper in the wind. 2nd of all, I think that whole mess with the men's mitb briefcase happened just to get Seth involved because earlier in the year, it was supposed to be Seth and Punk. 3rd of all, I think HHH will be able to book a way out of this. He's booked himself out of worse (cough, cough, We Want Cody, cough, cough).

Wrestling fans are actually such goofs sometimes. We've gotten a mens MITB briefcase run/cash in almost every year now for two decades. Its about time they burned through it immediately and gave the gimmick some time to rest. There was no perfect choice on the mens side this year, HHH is right to use the briefcase to push punk and drew forward while giving fans a break from the usual MITB. The next winner and their cash in will have a lot more anticipation and hype now thay they would have had without this break.

The plot device needed to be sacrificed, nobody’s cashing in on Cody or Gunther. Adding more fore to the flame in the punk and drew fued isn’t bad either, to me it elevated them to a all time great fued and it was an entertaining moment and the crowd was super into it

Triple H addressed the mistake during the title match he implied priest didn’t kick out in time (if I had to guess he didn’t hear the first count and thought there was more time) and that people make mistakes and to move on and think of the positives of the match

I was so lucky to be there and I got to meet Jevon Evans and be 2nd row during the preshow it was awesome the crowd was pretty loud during the event too

Tiffy definitely deserved it. But I think Mommy Iyo was the mvp of the ladder match from an in-ring perspective, and Chelsea was the MVP from an entertainment perspective. That Iyo/Zoe spot was insane.

Let me play devils advocate/try to make some sense here. 1. Jey still not winning important singles moments even when not being screwed over by jimmy could lead to him feeling like he really cant do it on his own, making him want to rejoin jimmy, or put us in a moment where jimmy comes back and helps jey win a big one as a redemption/im sorry moment that gets them together before the bloodline civil war. 2. Drew winning /cashing in/ and failing is actually a good thing. The MITB cash ins havnt been all too great recently and having that looming cash in as something to keep in mind while trying to complete long term story telling has actually been getting in the way. The next upcoming year we can just have fair winners and losers and not have failed cash ins/attempts bring down the value of the holder /the champion if they succeed because theyre not credible, like with what has been going on with priest since he won it. And not only does it add to the fued with cm punk with drew, but it starts one with punk and rollins, and also gives priest an interrupted title match that he doesn't have to be mad at the judgement day for. 3. We all know it was a botch, but a save could be that he was told via earpiece to stop the count because drew was cashing in. Not perfect i know, but the alternative is they do not acknowledge it, and we accept how the story was intended to be. Mistakes happen when you have 1 take to get it right but the show must go on. 4. The fact that the bron breaker match was forgettable is exactly why he shouldnt have won it. Sami zayne matches have been memorable recently, and if one is forgettable, its not because of sami zayne. I do agree it kinda halts bron, and he should have taken more than one holuva kick, but him not spearing sami also means he didnt catch an opening to properly 'break' him to make the win. It also keeps sami, and everyone hes beaten recently like gunther strong. If he has a classic with gunther to win it, but loses the title to bron in a forgettable match, everyone other than bron looks bad. 5. I agree. Womens MITB was fun and the swerve from Chelsea to tiffy was a nice touch. 6. The 6 man tag was as it should be. NOW solo has a reason to feel like wins and losses matter. He pinned the man that pinned the tribal chief. NOW it atleast makes sense for him to ask for people to acknowledge him. NOW he has a case to build on, because without him pinning cody, he looks like a little kid wearing his big brothers shoes playing pretend, and no one could take him being tribsl chief seriously

I completely understand why a lot of people don’t like the whole drew winning the case thing. It’s a waste of a title shot for someone who needs it, but I was at money in the bank, and it was so fuckin cool to see a cash in irl (this was my first ever Wwe show live) it was amazing, and when punk shows up, me and my dad were so hyped it was incredible. But in my opinion a lot of the candidates who had a decent chance of winning MITB already have other stuff going on, LA has Logan Paul and the us title, Jey doesn’t really need a case to put him into a main event level feud, and chances are that he is going to get back with the bloodline so having the case while doing bloodline things might make his bloodline involvement feel less important than if he didn’t have the case and Chad has the whole Wyatt thing to deal with before dealing with gold, and Carmelo and Andrade I don’t think had much of a chance due to not having a ton of tv time so drew is kinda the only option.

The people complaining about Bron losing to Sami are the same people who would whinge about Bron winning it too soon if he won.

We all rightfully praise the new presentation and how much better things look-especially the TV shows. But it feels like there’s a pretty big technical issue or two every single PLE lately. Graphics and entrance videos not working, microphones not working, cues or lighting not working etc.

I feel like what they did with the cash in was the right call because Gunther will win the title in summer slam and you don’t want him to lose it so soon and you don’t want Cody to lose the title either so using the briefcase to elevate the rivalry between Punk and Drew seems like the perfect solution that’s my opinion at least

I’m confused by way the commentators were saying that Punk screwed Seth and Seth was mad at Punk. Cm Punk did not screw Seth, he gave Seth a second chance if anything. They were acting like if Punk didn’t show up then the match would’ve continued, but if Punk didn’t show up then Drew just would’ve Priest. That whole Drew cash-in from the botch to the awkward ending was just not good.

I personally thought it was a great decision to have Drew win and get screwed again by Punk. I also predicted it so it felt good to be right lol. But I totally get the other side of not wanting to waste the briefcase and that the storyline didn’t need more. However, by doing it this way, now you have Seth Rollins involved in the feud. I suppose he could have gotten involved anyway if they didn’t go this route, but now Punk screwed both of them out of the WHC. I really love where this storyline is going, I just hope we get solo matches between drew and punk as well as the triple threat. As for wasting the briefcase, I don’t think that’s the case because I really do think the two main championship pictures are set for the foreseeable future. It sucks not having a MITB presence I know, but I don’t think the briefcase is wasted just because of that. Drew winning fulfilled its job, and I don’t think we’re going to be disappointed just because there isn’t a MITB holder throughout the year. It’s also good we have the women’s MITB to hold us over, so we still have that threat of Tiffany Stratton. I overall really enjoyed the card. The Priest botch did taint the night for me though.

The problem with jey is he’s really nothing more than an entrance, he hasn’t improved his move-set at all he’s still kinda vanilla. That’s why I think they haven’t pulled the trigger on him yet

Worst PPV under Triple H. Men’s MITB match under delivered so hard. Could’ve been an all timer but is gonna be forgotten by next week. Sami Bron was too short and the wrong person won and had a very bad finish imo. Priest Rollins may have been even worse as it made Priest look weak by him not kicking out of a Falcon arrow, Seth wasting his return, and a waste of a MITB contract by having Punk and Drew advance nothing to their feud. Women saved the show from being a disaster and had the right person win imo. And the main event was okay but nothing too special (and Tonga Loa somehow botched a low blow)

That cash in was honestly so bad and very unnecessary. Drew and Punks fued was already personal. If they wanted Punk to screw Drew he could’ve just stopped him from climbing the ladder. We would’ve preferred Gable Melo and especially Jey Uso.

Man, for that WHC pinfall I legitimately though "Oh Finn has the ref in his back pocket, so that he has plausible deniability for interfering" and I was fine with that, it made sense. Then Drew's music hit and I realised it was a mistake and it ruined it.

Great way to sneak in Rollins into this heated fued, bet they're planning for a tripple threat at SummerSlam, only thing i didn't like was they wasted the briefcase, maybe punk stealing or interfering before the cash in would have had the same result, although i feel the idea is that they want to take this fued far away from any title Also no way bron needed to lose clean, they could have avoided that, they probably had to take the same route they went with Lesnar with Cena in 2015

Yall are failing to understand that we just had a long MITB holder up until the cash in at wrestlemania. Having a new mitb winner hold it long, didnt make sense since we just had that; and it essentially escalates the Punk McIntyre feud, further without this looming thought of worrying about a cash in. Now the sole attention will be on Tiffany Statton as the one and only mitb holder this year, and she will successfully cash in on Bayley

Jey Uso should've won money in the bank. Putting it on Drew McIntyre only for him to cash in later that night and fail was useless and did nothing to ignite a feud that was already ignited.

I got the pleasure of seeing this event live in Toronto it was truly awesome. The botch definitely looks a lot worse on tv then it did in person. It definitely made us a little confused but the hype of drew cashing in and punk showing up completely overshadowed it for me and it ended up being my favourite moments of the night.
