I also came back from US and since working remotely for US company. I took a different approach and bought decent 3BHK in NCR. In my opinion 1500 sqft flat is more than enough for a small family with visiting parents. My future plan is to build my own small house with lot of open green area in Dehradun outskirts. Future of IT work is hybrid so 2nd tier cities are going to see lot of growth. With 5G and new expressways, vande bharat physical and internet connectivity both improving. Big private hospitals, schools coming to these cities which were earlier only available in metros.

I really appreciate the fact he moved back for cultural reasons and saying all the tech growth is going to happen India. But I can’t ignore the fact he is not missing a single change to say “if you have stayed in US this is kind of OKAY”. I’m in Bay Area and stay at a $2 million dollar house. We don’t have this massive guest bedroom. This is almost like a suite. This house is huge even from normal US standards. I just want him to acknowledge the fact some houses in India are way better than a median US house.

@herambpatkar

His english vocab is fine for someone who grew up in an indian village. He might have some mild speech impairment. I have worked with US client for years...they are generally tolerant and less judgmental towards non-native english speakers...infact they tend to respect muli-lingual people! Also the lack of refinement is due to the fact that most Indians speak english only at work that too during calls, meetings etc and not with their Indian colleagues, friends and family.

I fell off my chair when he said Whitefield has less traffic than the CBD. This is a joke considering the fact that BMRCL is struggling to complete the 1.5 KM missing link. Older localities of Bangalore such as Jayanagar, Rajajinagar, Malleswaram, Vijayanagar got access to Metro five years ago. It made a lot of difference to the Air Quality. The number of two wheelers on the road has also reduced thanks to Metro. But again, these are super rich who would never get into a Metro Coach, forget buses.

US is not the same anymore, everything is now super expensive while quality of life is deteriorating. Many parents are scared to send kids to school where gunculture,drgs and woke culture are now the norm. Also although indians wouldlove their kids speaking english in that accent, not too deep down they are scared about the disconnect that keeps building between them by each passing day. so many NRIs who have a good opportunity to make almost the same amount of money or in some cases even better than US,are more than happy to come back. They say for looking after parents and for kids' sanskaar but that's all BS. They would pack bags the next day all these problems in US are gone.

@herambpatkar 10 ай бұрын
@rajeevanp2561 I meant every city has them but not as widespread as Mumbai. Street shopping and street food in Bangalore are nowhere close to Delhi and Mumbai. Also, Mumbai is the financial hub, so it has stock markets BSE, NSE, Diamond hub, headquarters of BFSI companies There are many IT parks within Mumbai, thane, navi mumbai as well. Even cricket, entertainment, fashion industry in Mumbai is at a different level...Mumbai is home to films and TV industry not just for Hindi but even for Marathi, Gujarati and other languages. On top of that, everything is within the city limits connected with trains, new metros, public buses of 3-4 municipalities BEST, NMMT, TMT...on top of that you have metered taxis, autos, ola, uber, city flow buses. I was saying that Mumbai just offers a bit more, more diversity, and more options all closely connected!

Funny how the son ratted out the dad that his parents preferred smaller places in the US given cheap rents. Cute though!

He never mentioned his immigration status in usa. Was he having green card or 🇺🇸 citizenship? That will change his tax status in India. Is he getting paid in 🇺🇸 in dollars or Indian rupees. He says he works at night…is he employed by usa company and works in India . He rents the place not owns it. So, he hasn’t invested his funds in India….. I hope his dream of staying in India comes true.

It's funny he lived in US for 17 yrs and none of his kids have an American accent! Also, his son exposed him big time! Don't believe anything he says.

Depends on which city you are referring to. If u r referring to New York obviously not but in Charleston maybe yes. Also it again depends on ur financial status even in New York people in creamy layer live in 6500sq + house

This guy is wrong on so many angles. First of all, India is still not the land of opportunity, not yet.. may be in 30 years.. but not yet. US is still the number 1 destination for success. As for his comment on him wanting to raise kids in Indian culture.. the moment they are ready to go to college, he will send them to the US, you watch. He probably got let go to from there or visa issues and came back. Nothing wrong in it.. but too much show off.
