If you pay later to a vendors, it's not a cashflow number cooking. Also there is nothing bad if company buying fixed assets and spend money on them, its an investing activity. Leasing doesn't affect operational CF and purchases of fixed assets also diesn't. The main problem with CF numbers cooking is reclasification between financial and investing activities with operational activities. If company borow money and shows this as an operational cashflow that is a main problem.

Most of these transactions are fraudulent haha. It takes a thief to catch a thief anyway so this is good to know. Thank you for your wisdom sir

with Factoring - the Factoring company will generally pay you your receivables up front (minus a fee) and take care of the collecting. Invoice Discounting is similar but without the chasing - a cash facility based on your receivables (invoices) - useful for more than just cash flow statements but also a source of credit. Handy if you are a smaller company with big wealthy clients.

Sell and lease back is how some government departments operated in Australia in '80s. Cannot see the advantages, except that the maintenance and cleaning were contacted out, as they would have been anyway. I assume that some clever cluck was given a bonus or a better paid position. || These guys have probably died since.

Cook the books is a slang term for using accounting tricks to make a company's financial results look better than they really are. Typically, cooking the books involves manipulating financial data to inflate the company's earnings and deflate its expenses in order to pump up its bottom line.
