Thank you for introducing Mongolia to the world. Even up until this day, majority of the foreigners either assume that we are still living in the 13th century or is an autonomous country that is part of China. Cheers mate!

I liked the fact that they knew about football thanks to the internet. If nothing else, the internet opens peoples minds. I also like how positive your videos are Drew. Like even the b-roll shows people having fun playing sports and games and smiling. Even when you went to north korea in the giant bomb days, you always make sure to show the regular people just being kind and friendly, it's an awesome thing you do.

The dude at about 4:21 isn't wrong about one thing, even if I disagree that video games are not creative endeavors. I do often take the path of least resistance. There are days when even playing a game of any kind is too much effort. While I am not surprised this man would hold these feelings, it is still worth hearing a gaming perspective outside my western bubble. Thanks Drew for all this, I love your work.

I really don't agree that all games take you away from the world and make you think less. Some games, sure, but there are plenty of physical games which exist just to waste time as well. Puzzle games can exist and provoke thought in a way that physical puzzles never could, and narrative-focused games can foster empathy and evoke emotion on a level beyond movies or even books. Edit: I think I may have misinterpreted your comment. Did you mean that he wasn't wrong about a single thing, or that he was only not wrong about a single thing?

Phenomenal work, Drew. A great look at things we share in common without feeling patronizing or too much like a touristy travelogue. Watching these, it's always great to see how unique our cultures are, while at the same time seeing how -- anywhere in the world -- people are just people, and at the end of the day we all just want to have a place to call home and feel safe and have fun.

Mongolia is vey interesting, they hold a very traditional way of life justifying traditions as representation of their country positively as were Mongolia should be and keep this a priority over sheer desire to modernize, the govenment there doesn't establish a myriad of limitations, they do support for who lives in Mongolia to thrive in specific districts that they can have rentals and living circumstances, which as a Brazilian in the south of the country still to be modernized completely to American modern-west trends, I see what life offers there and think its great, its not trying to justify society as needed forever immortalizing constant decades of struggle, and it doesn't seem to have class struggle as a ideal, more so traditional perspectives, I like this a lot its simple, but it works, you put hard work into it, you will do as they say, not warped by visuals and easy escapism but to prioritize what cultural values you have and maintain from this as its showing your culture negatively or as sellout by trending market principles or social norms worldwide or statewide.

im mongolian typical teen who plays video games in my freetime. In mongolia video games are maybe most cheap fun you can find. Lot of childrens addicted to this since their elementary school, me too. Right now Dota2 and CS:GO are most popular games and PUBG too. But there's also many PC game center doesnt have guarantee. Lot of crimes happen in there.Fighting , thief. Also childrens learn lot of bad curse words in there. I also learned "Pizda" in there. But only few of them accepted them to play video game. Most of us play hidding from our parents. So lot of crimes happen cause you cant tell your parents where it happened. But its not that bad. I always go there after school and meet lot of my friends there. You can also became owners friend so you can play free lmao( im so cheap AF).But our parents and goverment, they still live in Capitalist age. They may think pc is mafia or smth. IDK but i'm sure 50% or highier percentage teens play video game at PC centers.

Save up some money and pick a place! It may take a while depending on your life situation but you can do it! It's usually cheaper than you think, especially if you pick chesper accomodstions or split the cost with friends. My first trip out of the country (Canada) was to Japan when I was 23 and I busted my ass balancing as much work as I could manage with school to get there but it was worth it. You can do it!

Its nice they are showing about mongolia. However, it would be great if they show the developed side of the country. If they keep showing the rural areas of Ulaanbaatar, they would think the only thing we have is some gers and horses. Of course a country would have a below average citizens. But that is not the only side of it.
