@@danjuric622 It's not the ozone layer what makes the sky appear blue, it's the whole atmosphere, which its indeed itself very, very thin if you compare its thickness with the diameter of the Earth

Well if you wanna watch that go to blue origin launch of new shepard. They are all sub orbital, they only need to go sideways. Orbit on the other hand needs to go horizontal or they just fall back to earth

Because it's not trying to get into an orbit,just as high as possible. To go into orbit you need "lateral" speed not just going upwards

Indeed, you often see that the leading edges of fins experience significant ablation, and depending on the material, melting. If fibreglass, Kevlar, carbon fibre, or any other fabric type of material is used, it must be wrapped over the leading edges, otherwise it frays and can even rip the structure apart. At minimum, of significant fraying occurs, it causes massive drag which may be unbalanced, causing the vehicle to go wildly off course. Camera lens covers/overhangs used to protect the lens itself from heating and ablation must also be carefully selected, otherwise it is not uncommon for them to melt or fray over the lens, obstructing the view partially or even completely. ... and yeah, the paint is often scorched away completely in sections, commonly the area just below the nose cone and around + behind (if there is such a section) the fins

This was made and launched in the United States of America. Which most of the country other then scientists use imperial. And I wouldn’t say it was superseded, it’s literally just as accurate as metric, if not more accurate. (when not using decimals)
