This is the place for serious reptile lovers! We have tons of expert info on pet lizards, habitat, snakes, turtles, sulcata tortoises, terrapin, crocodiles, alligators and all sorts of scaly & misunderstood creatures in Florida. We also love to learn from other animal experts, like Brian Barczyk, who are happy to share knowledge about pets. That’s what Kamp Kenan is all about. We love reptiles & science and we know you do too. This is why we do what we do. Animal conservation in the modern world matters, we're out there living it and doing it every day. This is real life, these stories are real, and our sole purpose is education in action for you so that you can learn something new every day and one day perhaps get involved yourself. It's that simple.
Let's create a new generation of educated reptile keepers & animal enthusiasts by spreading the love!

Can't get enough of these 2 together lol Kevin is a genius, he's always moving, thinking, doing, observing and working with these animals. He has such a deep understanding of the Umwelt, without even knowing the term for it, which we Germans have. He's has buckets full of knowledge, understanding of all these different animals and he's got the success and proof to show it. I love listening to him and to Kenan, they're both different, but also similar in many ways. Kevin has to take everything and everyone in, he has to touch everything and everyone, like he gave Kenan a lil rub on his shoulders lol And that's his way of gaining knowledge, understanding and bonding. I just love it, it's so fascinating to me! Kenan and Kevin are most def my fav bromance other than Kevin and Brian Barczyk.

I love the relationship with his lizards. That's exactly what you have with Slinky. More coddling to do but I totally get how you are still apprehensive because you didn't have your lizards at birth so they could freak out and bite because they are not sure. Kevin is amazing and I'm liking his knowledge on animal behavior. Nice collab!

@@ghostmarine3608 My Chinese water dragons are the same way. They come up to the front of the enclosure and scratch at the glass when they want out like a dog scratching at the door. I open it up and they climb right up onto my arm and up to my shoulder. I can handle them any way I need to without having them freak out at all, to include handling their feet which seems to be a sensitive spot for them. I only found out about NERD and Kevin recently, but most of the methods he teaches are what I was already doing with all of my animals, so it's kind of cool to see that there is someone else out there advocating for interacting in this way. The stakes may not be as high with water dragons, they certainly aren't going to send anyone to the hospital with a bite ;-) , but it's still extremely rewarding to have such a good and trusting relationship with them.

Kevin is a pro reptile behavioral analyst. Within seconds he can respond to a reactive animal and flip it’s reactions to inquisitive impulsivity. I’ve never seen a person who can build trust so quickly with a highly defensive animal. Definitely a great person to follow if you need to gain confidence in dealing with hissy animals. Watch the reticulated Python bite video response from NERD. He takes the same animal that lunged at his employee and shows the employee what went wrong and how to correct your influence on its reactive response.

@@NewEnglandReptile already ordered! We rescued our iguana when she was a couple years old. Lived her entire life before us in a cage in a garage. What we did when she moved in was to put her enclosure in the kitchen and open the door. She has full access to the house. We have had her a few years now. At first she wasn’t very friendly. She has learned that we aren’t going to hurt her. She knows I’m the alpha male and my wife is the alpha female. She likes me more 😂 She now just comes out in the morning. Walks to her window seal. Hangs out in the sun all day and than goes back to her enclosure when the sun goes down lol. I love these videos you did with Kenan! I got some great information! Thanks!
