Chat did Connor dirty. Showering everyday, especially using soap that’s harsh on your skin, can cause dryness that results in it being far more susceptible to breakouts, eczema, and other skin issues. Every other day is ideal, but that’s for Connor. Mousey’s ideal is every day due to her condition, and I’m sure she uses moisturizers that help her after showers. tl;dr as long as you dont reek like swampass, shower on your preferred schedule

Exactly. Someo many people think you're supposed to do a full bath daily when in reality factors like: how much you sweat, the oilyness or dryness of your skin, and the climate are all contributing factors to how much you should bathe. Different routines for different situations.

Outside of a hot country where you'd be sweating buckets just by lying around, or due to special circumstances like Mouse's, you really don't need to shower if you're not going out. It IS actually bad for your skin to shower everyday; as it turns out there's no such thing as a shower in nature, so most land animals evolved to cope with only occasionally being soaked (i.e. by rainfall or in lakes, etc.). Stripping your skin of it's natural oils everyday and putting harsh soaps on it can cause issues.

Most land animals wash in rivers, streams, or lakes regularly (they need to drink there so why not wash), it makes sense that humans and apes specifically would wash more regularly given the wet tropical regions they evolved in. The soap stuff is true though.

Large swaths of the populace up to 1/3rd but under half, actually need to wash very frequently. Cause of a scalp condition that causes skin irritation and heavy big flake dandruff. Something to being more susceptible to the fungus that eats at our scalp oils, leaves the saturated ones, which cause skin irritation, itching and dandruff. So you're right, but there's also people that need soap and water to get rid of oils!

Fun fact, many solid and gel deodorants clog pores and cause you to smell worse. Not using them for a long enough period of time actually opens the pores up and makes it less likely you'll smell awful. Spray deodorants, while just basically a cologne in and of themselves, are better for your pores.

PSA: We all have an "expiry date" with regards to smells. Wash, or wipe down, creases on the body every day. If you don't want to shower because you're just going to be inside the house chillin, you can sponge bath (or use baby wipes on) problem areas instead. Bacteria accumulates strongly in those areas. Balls and the surrounding area, pits, toes, neck, anus area, and the nose. The bacteria that accumulates produce smells that can become very unpleasant after a certain period of time. Every body's "expiry date" is different. For an immunocompromised person, the presence of those bacteria can be dangerous.

That's.. actually quite normal, I used to live in new york, and in the colder months I'd skip a day or two of a shower, one it saves on the water bill, but two, it gets so cold that unless you're exerting physical effort sitting in your computer chair will NOT leave you even remotely sweaty or dirty, you can definitely shower every other day or two in the colder months. Summer? OR since I've moved to florida where it's summer 11.5 months out of the year? Yeeeah every day

if you are home, alone, by yourself, who cares if you dont shower everyday, or even if you stink or wear the same boxers. just wash before you go out, and change. it literally doesn't affect anyone.

I bathe daily just because I like doing it. There's straight up no reason to bathe daily if you don't sweat often and especially during winter it can be really helpful to just not get wet most days of the week. I don't use soap daily though because if you shower or take a bath with just water every now and then you straight up feel your skin drying whenever you use soap too many times in a row.

I skip showers sometimes if I'm home all day and don't have to go out or interact with other people. But even if I was staying at home under quarantine or something, if I'm with someone else, it's a daily routine no question. Especially if you're sleeping with someone. I can't imagine having a woman I'm dating telling me she doesn't bathe everyday. That's an instant turn off and a break up on the spot.

There is such things as over-showering. If you don't get dirty, don't sweat, and aren't active in a cool, low-humidity indoor climate in breathable clothing then showering isn't necessary or recommended unless there is a specific reason for it like you stink or you are naturally oily/sweaty. Showering strips your body of it's natural oils and protective barrier. Which can cause your skin to be dry, age faster, and break out. And if you are shampooing/conditioning every day then you are doing even worse to your hair.
