They really need to start teaching young adults and maybe even adults more about what traits and red flags to watch out for . I got myself into a really toxic relationship for 13 years because I thought I could fix them at first because I thought I needed to be supportive then I deserved it . Then got to the point I just wanted it to end but I pulled myself up and started the long journey to recovery and I am so greatful I did.

@@cynthiaschmidt9420 I'm with you on that. I don't want my daughter to be indoctrinated by strangers with an agenda. I'd much prefer for her to hear from genuine survivors. I found myself engaged to a "wonderful" man who was quite a few years older than me. I changed jobs and, just 3 days after I started my new job, I heard a colleague sharing a story about her neighbour. The woman was separated from her husband because she uncovered his numerous affairs. She was in a legal battle with him over the ownership of her home. She bought it, using a generous inheritance, 7 years before she met her hubby. The house was in her name but he wanted ownership. The house he lived in then was one he secretly bought during their marriage. Then the colleague mentioned his name. It's unusual so I asked some questions. It was the man to whom I was engaged. He wasn't divorced. I challenged him at dinner that night. We were in a restaurant. He went crazy. I saw the real man emerge. I went to the rest room & called a taxi. Left him there and kept the ring. I eventually sold it.

If you find out you've helped scam people, best imo to publicly and humbly repent and offer everything you have to those you've wronged, your community, charity etc as the community desires to be fully compensated with a heart of mercy and grace only doing unto others as you would have done to you. Like basically turning yourself over into their hands as they were in yours. I hope everyone can get right with God and forgive.

I can't blindly believe that Daphne is as gullible as she's trying to make out. Her tears in some instances don't ring quite true. I'm not saying outright that she's culpable, but honestly, how ignorant a woman she'd have to be in order to believe all of his lies. Honestly I don't know which scenario would be worse...

I don’t think she’s a “gold digger,” but I’m sure his “wealth” had a lot to do with the blinders she put on. The first red flag is that he would go after a middle-aged/older woman when he could hook up with a 20- year-old gold digger looking for a Sugar Daddy. He knows an older person would turn a blind eye to certain things and not question things too closely as long as the luxury lifestyle is in play and she can live a fantasy. A younger beauty who has more men available to her wouldn’t be as desperate as to ignore “red flags” and would be gone in a New York Minute if even a whiff of falseness comes across. At the very least, she would do a very thorough background check on him and his furniture “empire” first to make sure she is isn’t being tricked. As cruel as it sounds, middle-aged wealthy single men are not looking for middle-aged/older ordinary single women. They aren’t looking for a home-cooked meal and a warm personality. They want their successes to be reflected in the “relationships” they can attract: i.e. hot trophy girlfriends/wives. If older women would assess their potential romantic relationships with an objective eye, they might avoid being scammed in the first place. I’m shocked her kids didn’t do a simple background check on him, but willingly jumped in feet first. It’s usually the grown children who can smell a rat and suspect that something is just a little too-good-to-be-true with a parent’s love interest.

Wealthy people generally donate to charities not out of altruism but for the huge tax breaks. notice how many donate to their own charities. edit sounds like the wife was in on it and everyone is just giving her a pass. She smiles alot during those crying jags I don't usually put a lot of credence in body language but that seems a bit too blatant to ignore entirely. it isn't evidence but it's interesting and the insurance guy seems to believe she was involved; the insurance company would have evidence to that end if it exists so makes me think he may be onto something

I don’t believe for a second that Daphne wasn’t in on his con. There’s no way she’d leave her own country to travel to cartel country if she’s that afraid of them. I wouldn’t be surprised if her daughter that travelled to the Bahamas with her was in on it too. I also find it hard to believe the police are actually buying what she’s selling. They probably just needed her as a cooperating witness. If she was really helping him out of fear for her family’s safety then when the insurance companies took her to court she could’ve turned to the police then. And even still consider how bold you have to be to go to court against 7 insurance companies for 8 million dollars knowing that you’re lying. She was obviously extremely comfortable with lying and that’s also why she could read her children his bogus death letter. I don’t think he chose her because she’s gullible I think he chose her because he saw that she is as equally morally compromised as he is. The only thing driving her was greed. I don’t buy her crocodile tears and I also think it’s weird she looks like she’s smiling while she’s supposedly upset.

@@ashliM2990 thank you, i remember the case from that video, i was hoping that part 2 might have additional extra info or that it woukd be out earlier and we woukd have the reg podcast back for next week. I love Ana so i watched today anyway, but i like the reg podcast better lol

Having had to fight my way through life on my own, it's hard to feel sorry for these women who fall so deeply in love with a man's wallet. I wouldn't mind a taste of life myself- dining, traveling, a beautiful home, etc, but I wouldn't "fall in love" with someone just because they could provide that life. I am extremely poor, but proud that l am also very honest & have never used people to get what l want. Otherwise l wouldn't be poor, would l, lol??! 🇨🇦
