Twitch chat is so frustrating. "these animals aren't releasable"... "why don't you release them?!" "they've imprinted on humans, which means [detailed explanation]"... "what's imprinting!?" Just watch the damn animals, support the organisation if you can, and *listen* pleeeease

"Non-profit" means that any money from donations or merch sales, etc. left over after expenses, including salaries, is recycled back into the enterprise instead of being distributed to owners/shareholders as profit. Maya COULD legally take a salary, which would be counted as an expense. I don't know where her personal money comes from. :-)

crazy story ab brown recluses. My mom actually got bit by a brown recluse on her hand one morning when i was a child, she was pulling the trash out and said she didnt even know something had bit her at the time. she ended up going to the ER bc her hand had QUITE LITERALLY doubled in size. im not exaggerating. her hand was fucked for literal weeks and i remember that being what sparked my severe arachnophobia lmao

Take this with a grain of salt as well, but brain DENSITY is more important than brain size. Stompy may have a closer brain/noggin ratio to a fish, but Stompy's brain density is more similar to a crow/raven than a fish.

Would it be possible to introduce Appa and Momo to another marmoset if for any reason you ever got another?
@eggboi5015
@eggboi5015 Жыл бұрын
Based on a few google searches, it tends to be extremely difficult to introduce highly social animals like primates to an already established group. Until it was introduced there is no way of knowing how they are going to react to a new individual. As far as I can tell it seems really common that when animals are introduced to an existing troupe it doesnt work out for 1 reason or another.

you mentioned invasive species lie European starlings and sparrows, what is your opinion on saving/rescuing them when they are abandoned as baby’s or injured? ik saving animals is normally a good thing but what are the options when they are invasive?
@promisecheyanneart
@promisecheyanneart Жыл бұрын
She's talked about how her foxes are invasive and that's why they can't be released humanely. It's probably best to keep invasive animals in sanctuaries if release harms the environment.
@luvjaee
@luvjaee 11 ай бұрын
giving them to a sanctuary where they wouldn’t be able to harm native wildlife would probably be good. but, i know in some places it would be better to hard cull them, which is humane euthanasia if you didn’t know already.

I wonder if they would like a little goldfish pond? Nothing deep enough they get into trouble, but enough to splishy splashy and maybe chase some safe little fishes? Are there any other animals they might get along with that would be safe to habitat with like any kind of bird like parakeet, or lovebird? sugar gliders? Just wondering what other kinds of animals that are safe tehy could get enrichment from through cohabitation with something different than they are.

@konstantinavalentina3850
@konstantinavalentina3850 Жыл бұрын
@@Bibblesupremacy1992 - I use goldfish as an example since they are an invasive species and could be sorced from places around Texas where they are doing environmental harm, plus Texas isn't a constant "hot" tmperature all year, and, perhaps wee monkies may be provided some semi-sustainable, low-cost nutritional enrichment if it's safe for them tom noms on fishies. Not all exta animal friends suggested for wee monkeys, would necessarily be safe from monkeys, just safe for monkeys. They ARE wild animals, and wild animals will do wild animal things, and the more they're enabled and provided the resource and opportunity to do that, then, perhaps the better. Yes. it would probably be unpleasant for goldfish, but the Buddha says all suffering comes from want, so, if you give up want, your next life may be more fulfilling. :)

Parakeets and marmosets could easily hurt each other, I've seen other species of marmosets housed with agouti (sort of like a big guinea pig or small capybara) but it's safest to keep them on their own.

That camera is so nice that it's too nice. The focal point is so shallow for some reason, and the stream is out of focus like 90% of the time. Idk what the answer to that is, a different lens perhaps? Either way, still love everything you do! Keep up the important work!!

They should be able to adjust f-stop to get more in focus. Could also be some setting with the autofocus. Not really easy to do with this kind of production since there is not a camera crew just a single guy.

ppl don't understand that pets....most of the time are subjected to whatever the owner wants.....not their actually specific needs or their specific personality. If your dog personally does not want to wear a clothing, a shirt.....don't put it on it......if your dog shouldn't be wearing a shirt b/c you ignored its needs and got a malamute where its coat and its specific need is a colder climate and specific grooming needs and you put it in the backyard on a chain in arizona weather never to be touched by groomers.....b/c they could careless of its actual needs, if its already in those conditions it doesn't need to wear a shirt. If your dog, likes to wear things and it tolerates it....great your dog actually has a personality that wants to do those things. If your dog has a skin condition and needs a coat or sweater to keep them warmer, great job pet owner A +. These wild animals need facilities that cater to their specific needs like this one not what ppl want them to do or for them. They have the funding and resources and the research and the caring to make sure of their specific needs. With pets a lot of the times its b/c ppl want them not b/c they have the skills or resources to be the best placing for that animal. Even dogs there are shelters full b/c ppl didn't realize they would get that big, take that much work, shed that much, allergic.....there are hypoallergenic dogs and cats or pets and all it takes is to research what your actually getting to make sure it fits your families needs. Vs irresponsibly purchasing animals.

its correct it depends on the breed of dog, only certain dog breeds have a bite radius to break bone. I don't think the foxes mouth are that big. Maybe a childs arm size bone. but tnot most adult size hand or arm, but if ppl are dumb enough to stick their finger in their mouth, could lose a finger.....German shepherds, rottweilers, bull dogs, probably doberman, just a few with that bite radius. So if you take a german shepherd head beside this fox......they are not the same size head or mouth......the fox could break a chicken leg....its designed to do that.
@angelicdemon1333

yes big cats even babies ......the amount of like the lowest grade meat to satisfy their actual needs, is not cheap, then there is the enrichment equipment the staff pay....thats why ppl think they are so cute and want to keep them as babies......and cannot satisfy their feeding needs especially as they get bigger.....a hungry large cat even thats bee around ppl in captivity is not a good situation......then Large animal vets one are few and far between for those specific animals and house calls for those specific animals.....the vet bill would be pricy anyway just b/c its a large exotic animal, a house call would be more expensive, unless you want to pay to transport to these few and far btw vets. anyone that has horses and paid a vet bill for horses....sometimes those are few and far btw...and anything related to horses is pricy.....the amount that is needed to maintain these animals for what they need socially, space wise, medical, food......properly is steep.
