I purchased the Monolith 7x back in June 2021 with some apprehension due to it's lack of Audiophile name recognition, i.e. McIntosh, Adcom, Krell, Parasound, etc.,. Don't let the name fool you; it's designed and built by ATI and I'm continued to be surprised by its performance so far. I'm driving a Klipsch RC-64 III Center Channel Speaker, 2 Miller & Kreisel (M&K) S-100B L/R Heights, 2 M&K S-100 L/R Surround Rear, 2 M&K LCR36 as L/R Surrounds. All the M&K's are high sensitivity 4 ohm, hard to drive speakers and the Monolith 7 drives them effortlessly. I sometimes play the Monolith loud for at least 2 few hours and only gets as warm as my McIntosh MC352. The only negative comment I can make is that the speaker terminals on the rear are a bit too close and I solved that by using heavy duty Dual Banana Plug Gold Plated connectors. Esthetically they look good on the amp and functionally, not a problem. For this amp, use 12 gauge speaker wire or better.

I have the 7x200 hooked up to a Yamaha 3030, Tekton Encores, B&W center, duel SVS 16 subs and SVS surrounds. Simply love the amp. Looking to go to pre amp. Looking at several. Emotive, Monolith, plus others. My search continues.

Another solid review KPAC E Guy. However a lil' dusting before the shoot would have been nice.

I had the 7X briefly and have no complaints about it. Heavy duty, excellent build quality, and pretty much all the power you need to run virtually any speaker. I only sold it to go with slightly more powerful amps to match, at a price I couldn't refuse. My only knock on it is weight and heat dissipation. If you need to move these around, or if it turns your listening room into a sauna, then the Emotiva XPA current gen lines are lighter and cooler because of their rail switching on the power supply. Same goes with any class D amps, in terms of weight and heat, but the best designed ones that are comparable with the better class A/B amps are quite expensive at this time. I do think that the best thing Monoprice has going for it right now is the HTP-1 pre-pro, but hopefully it goes down in price.

7x paired with marantz sr5012 (5.2.2) and see no need to change a thing! The 93lb amp costing more than the avr had me concerned I can't lie, but worth every penny! Thx for your review Sir!

I have been debating the 5 channel version versus the Emotiva XPA and cant make up my mind. I may end up going with the Monolith due to it's depth because my cabinet is 20" total. The Emotiva is 19" deep which does not leave me much room for the wire connections since the cabinet has a back on it. I really want the Emotiva for the extra power down the road for a speaker upgrade. I still don't know..... 🤷♂️

Bro, basx300 vs monolith 2x200 for a 2.2 home theater? Is it worth 2x the price of the bassx300? Keep up the solid work!!

I’m not sure if it is fair to compare the monolith amp with the emotIiva BASX amp. The 2 A are in a different price class and have a different design architecture.

Even though you made this video a year ago, I am sure your thoughts are the same. Was on the fence regarding Monolith and Emotiva. Think I will pull the trigger on the Monolith 7x to power my SVS sound stage.

Hi Kpace. In your 1 year later AVM 70 review you mentioned aspiring for the Anthem amplifiers. What sound qualities exist you think between the monolith and anthem amps?

And Yes ..., I Am Definitely Thinking of Getting this Particular " Monoprice Monolith AMP" Big Time!!!

When you connect the amp to the receiver, does the power from the receiver add up or it takes the power only from the amp?
