I loved what you said about the boys showing affection. They are like a family so it's really common for them. But I totally agree, most western people who see the way members of kpop groups interact show certain rejection, smth that makes me really sad.

They didn’t used to be touchy back when they first started. Every year from that time I see that their friendship grew and became more comfortable with each other which made them more touchy. Their friendship is beautiful. They just have this family bond that just makes melts my heart. They’re so kind, funny and humble.

I could write an entire essay on how society views femininity and masculinity, and how behaviors society has deemed 'feminine,' are often seen as weak. Ooh boy I get fired up just thinking about it. Jimin reflects the greatest development in this I think. During their earlier eras, Jimin portrayed himself as what society deemed 'manly' and 'tough.' Over the years, he has grown to realize that isn't who he is, and now, he is very different. He has discovered who he is, and it's a representation of what I hope society becomes. My favorite quote from Jimin regarding this topic is a few years back when Kook and Hobi where taking selfies and were joking about how "men don't check their selfies." Jimin replied, "there's that word again. What the heck is 'men?!'"

Spring Day is a really touching song with a lot of meaning. It's one of the songs that's helped me through this pandemic. We were really surprised that they performed it, but glad that they did. 💜

I know you are doing this BTS journey in chronological order, however I wish you would hurry. I’m so anxious for you to watch Taehyung’s “ Singularity”. It is the most sensual song despite the heartbreaking lyrics. Taehyung is such a talent. Just so you know my bias is Suga because the dark grittiness speaks to me.

The only way to really recognize them individually is by watching more of them, especially focusing on their off stage personalities. Once you know that, you'll be even more impressed by the persona they adapt on stage. I believe what made BTS as big as they are now is because of their sincerity. Their songs and actions bleed sincerity and people appreciate that. If you ever find the time to watch their docuseries or docu movies, you'll realize how human they are, how their thoughts are the same as ours but they know how to use words so well, how it's very clear to them that fame will not last and how to some extent they look forward to the day they can finally take strolls and people will not notice them. Their latest docuseries focuses on their friendship and how they view their relationship. Namjoon described it as between bestfriends and family. I think that's why they are so humble, they have each other to keep them grounded. If you are interested to know more, they uploaded their 7th year anniversary celebration here in youtube. It's a long video but you'll get a clearer picture of who they are as friends, they first impressions of each other, their appreciation and regrets towards one another and their thoughts on how this pandemic has affected them. You are very right about now days we are so pre occupied in everything surrounding us we neglect ourselves and self preservation like SUGA said we should put our hands on things we can control and that is ourselves our families etc, My grandfather always said that it’s noble to want to take care of the world but if your own family is suffering then what’s the point? granted yes what’s going on is terrifying and in my honest opinion it’s unnecessary but it’s nothing new like sexism,racism,stresses,peer pressures,suicide,assault etc it’s just now days is amplified and it all because of how we get the news I.e social media etc I applaud those who are trying to help and make a difference but there are others who’s situation can’t protest etc etc and it doesn’t make them less humane or make them care less it’s all ones situation What I love about BTS is that they know and are very aware of the platform they are on as influencers in society these days with their fans and instead of forcing THEIR view point on us they Show us through actions and encouraging words that each person has their own VIEW and that no matter how different it is UNIFICATION AND POSITIVITY and self love is essentially what they believe, RESPECT FOR ONESELF AND OTHERS, I truly believe they aren’t JUST A “BAND” to be honest they’re a Movement and a positive one we need in today’s times, I’ve seen KPOP groups come and go since the early 2000’s even in the states when the HALLYU movement was picking up but when I say they’re a “movement” it’s because their message that comes with their music isn’t just a Trend it resonates with people and that’s why they’ve only just grown each year with popularity, relatability is their strength and what I admire most is that they’re not fitting into the mold of IDOL but instead they’re humanizing that “Title” “IDOL” and that’s what’s most important because a lot of fans most not all but as I say MOST are K-fans because for a long time their idea of IDOL is still such a “POSSESSIVE THING” BTS is trying to open the eyes of those fans who see them as “POSSESSIONS” and trying to show that they’re also HUMAN and should be treated as such as well I’m so proud of these 7 young men 💜💜💜💜💜

Funfact: They were at the Korean national museum. V is unfortunately not so much in the forefront as Jungkook personally I like V voice and entertainment level better. He is also more extrovert and he is the one who tries most of the time to entertain the rest of the group or the fans. He is an entertainer all tough he has become more quiet and mysterious nowadays.

Tho I totally understand and respect that you personly like V`s style better, this comment kind of rubbed me the wrong way... How I read this comment, it seems you think V deserves the main vocal more than Jungkook, or any of the other vocals in BTS. Which is kind of wrong if you ask me... BTS members have different styles, and they all have different qualities that appeal to different people. And there is a reason JK is the main vocal. Not because he is "superior" to the others, but he was more stable in is voice earlier on, and therefore got the most parts. It only makes sense. But as the other members improved their vices and caught up to him (and are now improving together with him), they have gotten more parts as well. Depending on the song, some get more lines in that song than the others or shine more on that type of song because their style fits the song more. Jungkook really isn`t as forefront as some people seem to think. He is the main vocal just as Jimin and J-Hope are the main dancers and RM is the leader. They all have their role to fulfill in BTS. And BTS isn`t BTS without all 7 of the BTS members. And they all have solo songs and covers that you can listen too if you feel like enjoying just one of their (amazing) voices:)

He is good, I just don't have a preference for the sound of his voice. He is good. I'm not a solo Stan. . That's why I say personally it is not to critique the way things are, they do their way and it is part of their succes.

@@kunilsen2519 For me it's like JK has a nice voice and really stable perfomances, he has been the main singer for a reason, but he's like... more of textbook idol vocalist? The other 3 have special and very distinctive vocal color, they add a special flavour to BTS' songs and imo they express emotions in a more impactful way. Whereas JK is more versatile, so his voice fits well with most songs. Also, the thing with JK is that he's a lot more confident in his skills, so his adlips are amazing. In conclusion, no one can have it all, and I don't expect every member to be the best at everything. I support the way they complete each other in BTS, even though sometimes I wish some members could shine a bit more equally.

Thanks for sharing your trauma story. Things like that definitely need to be brought out into the open to fight. Just so you know, k-pop fans, and ARMY in particular, are very well aware that the Idols are countering toxic masculinity, sexism, and racism around the world as international fans fight to have them recognized as artists.

Exactly Rex, it's how you would treat someone super close to you . I think that we take things like that and automatically make them about sex or saying "That's so gay" it's a very bad ignorant way to see things. bts have talked and thought a lot about the day when inevitably everything dies down and bts is over. They're very open about it and have said that as long as it's a soft landing and not a crash, they're content and ready for it and they won't have any regrets when it happens.

Yup. This is something I want to share to those who say "bts is just the trend right now". It may be so but even though bts knows that (even though they know all this must end), they still want to give everything their best shot. I commend them for that. Its not easy to be aware of that fact especially as an artist.

I admire how you don't let the toxic masculinity/machismo view be an obstacle for you to express love in a physical way, we all need touch, and maybe if men are met with more gentle loving touches and expression, they wouldn't be so quick to express anger/violence when they are upset, make them less depressed, too.

Experienced ARMYs know - you cannot determine the member by hair color or style, in general. It changes too often. Maybe if you watch member specific vids it will help marry the face to the name to the voice. I love V aka TaeHyung, TaeTae or Tae also! Jimin is extremely unique. You’ll wonder why you didn’t see it immediately. U nice, keep going.

Halsey’s mic is an orange color actually. I don’t know about the separate identifying factor in the mic colors, bc they used to all have the same colored mics. RM = light blue mic (although he has been using a black one recently but idk the reason) Jin = Pink mic Suga = Black glitter mic J-hope = Red mic Jimin = gold mic V = green mic Jungkook = purple mic

Shoutout to your wife Sir, for bring you to this world and sharing your take on music and an in-depth explanation of the industry you know. Thank you for sharing your thoughts and opinions about this rabbit hole. It's a bumpy ride all these years, and I believe it still is with corrupt industries that run in money. But with ARMY (Veteran ARMYs, Baby ARMYs, Quarantine ARMYs, and the future ARMYs) who would be part of this journey, We'll push through things like we always did. I've been with them since 2013, I cried, I laughed, I got frustrated, I got furious (and still do, because of the things other fandoms say about them and what they do, to cause harm to the group) but most of all I rejoiced and would always continue to, knowing they're here at where they are now fighting to be heard by more people willing to listen, as ARMYs do the same spreading the message of our artist. I hope somehow you'd feel the same pride we all have for them when you catch up with all the content. Shoutout to the pancit too. 🙌 💪 I recommend the AMERICAN HUSTLE LIFE series.

Even though Jungkook is the main vocalist , I love the rest of the vocal line too. They each have their own unique appeal for me ! Jimin's light and airy tone, Taehyung and his sensual one, and Jin with his very ballad suited voice. With each passing year I grow to appreciate Jin's voice more. - Also , thank you for sharing your story.

One of the most important contributions that BTS has made, and there have been many, is how they combat outdated and negative stereotypes of masculinity, just by being themselves. Also, they literally grew up together. There’s a lot of affection there.

I won't keep repeating what everyone else is answering. 😉. Feel free to stop as often as you like. Ask your questions, make your observations. If we were here for a full video we could have pulled it up. We are here to see what you have to input or ask about. Most all of us are quite happy to have you ask or rewind and take your time. I will say I believe Halsey's mic was a mixture of the guys colors or even rainbow. Hers was not solid. You noticed the different mics, I was looking at the ear pieces that match which I didn't know for a while. I think I first noticed with Tae and his green ear pieces and mic. Nice observation. Signs of affection between men are much more common in The Far East and Middle East. Took me some getting used to but now I wonder why Westerners are so homophobic.

I think without knowing, ignorance takes over and even more so far off wanting to know. I've been sexually assaulted when I was 13,I was really angry at anyone who was gay until about 2009 when I had two roommates who were gay and they knew what happened after I told them. They protected me in a way I've not seen and explained to me the LGBTQA Community. They took me places and I swear I felt like a rockstar. Never so much kindness and acceptance, and they made sure I was safe and comfortable. That really changed my perception. 🕉️☮️🙏🏾❤️😀⛩️

You should check out some of the vocal line live stuff and also their solo songs - they each have very distinct and different ranges and tones and you will be able to recognise who is singing without the visuals

even under BTS (not mix tapes or side projects) they all have individual/solo songs, so that may be able to help you not only looks but their ranges, styles, as well as facials too... since a lot of them also have videos to go along with it..... teasers for their previous and current ("7" album)... so that may be able to help....

I hope once you watch more of the boys you'll start to see that even among idol groups their bond is one of a kind. They constantly call each other family and soulmates. They're the only successful idol group I know of that made the choice to keep living together even now (all other idol groups will usually move out of their dorms once they make enough money which is understandable) and jimin has mentioned several times that he wants them to keep living together even in 20 years' time. Tae has said that whenever they're not together they feel really lonely, and j-hope found it hard when he had to shoot chicken noodle soup on his own in America because he misses them. I can only dream of finding people like that in my life.

@@MONQTV Stigma is on BTS' Wings album (2016), Singularity is on BTS's Love Yourself 'Answer' album (2018) while Sweet Night is a solo project of V for Itaewon Class OST (a Korean drama series) released March 2020. This particular song hasn't been played up or reacted to much but I find it so ... Well, i don't want to preempt any of your reactions so i'll wait for what you'll say. Yeah I can relate with your comment about not vibing too much with certain songs; it’s all cool :) but for me the music grows on me

Yeah, my favourite BTS songs reflect my taste in other music ! As an alt rock fan ( Muse was the first band I saw live ) I tended to enjoy some of the earlier songs in concert the most. But there's always a few songs on each album that resonate with me regardless. And even if songs like Spring Day might not be my favourite listening - wise, the story behind it and their performance of it always grabs me.

@3:27 That’s V (Taehyung) - you can tell by his soulful deep voice but he can go high with his vocals too @4:35 JIN @4:39 JungKook - he goes abit higher with his voice since he’s the main vocalist but also subrapper @4:50 Jimin - highest voice in the group besides Jungkook @5:24 SUGA @5:57 Yea, JHope does have a singing/rapping sunny vibe to his voice which isn’t surprising since he also does sub-vocals @6:31 That’s why we advice newbies to NOT focus on their hair and color because it constantly changing, its better to focus in their voices and personalities (the way they are) @7:23 J-Hope - you were correct on that one except of the enimem comparison @7:35 Of course you know are RM, since he’s your bias which isn’t surprising either because they’re allot of fans who only know or focus on their biases and some don’t even try to look at the other members! @13:56 If i’m not mistaken, when they reach a certain amount of success they get their own customized mics which is what those are @20:51 *You are absolutely right and it’s sad because when westerners see that kind of behaviour they would automatically label that person(s) out to be gay when they are straight but because kpop groups especially males literally grow up together like a family (like brothers/very close best friends) they become very close to each other so when others see frowned upon body language/gestures toward other males they would think guys shouldn’t do that especially very closed minded individuals who don’t at all understand the close bond relationship between kpop male groups when they become trainees that becomes a group they live, sleep, eat, play games, shop, practice together 24/7 everyday in the sense of being glued to the hip so that they can build a strong close friendship between the members so they can have a successful predebut/debut when they time comes for he public to see them ... majority of what you see i other content is either fanmade or fan service that they which is them basically playing around giving those kind of fans want to see* 🙄

For most of their live performances it's easy to tell them apart by their mic colors 🤗 Blue(black in this video)- Namjoon/RM Pink- Jin Black- Yoongi/Suga Red- Hobi/J-hope Gold- Jimin Green- Tae/V Purple- Jungkook 💜💜 great reaction as always!

No words, I was too busy tearing up especially on the last two songs all the emotion they put into each song ... congrats to this year’s graduates sho have finished high school & college, ready to move on to the chapter of your life. 👩🎓👨🏼🎓👍🏾 Since these songs arent new to majority of BTS ARMY but for newbies the tracks are called #BoyWithLuv, #SpringDay and #Mikrokosmos which the first song they performed is connected to their 2014 #BoyInLuv followed by the next two later down the road. I don’t fully remember meaning behind Spring Day except I think it was JIN’s disappearance they were trying to find him and Mikrokosmos is for the fans.

They have the mics for the aesthetic mostly, and the mics are in their favourite colours. BTS almost always have the same mics so you can try to use the mic colours to separate them. Gold - Jimin Purple - Jungkook Pink - Jin Green - V Red - J-hope Blue - RM Black - Suga

The choice of the songs for this performance was such a blessing! These three tracks are some of the most comforting\healing in BTS discography - Boy with luv being the sweet love letter, Spring day talking about missing your friends and Mikrokosmos - the mega concert ending one, the song about every person shining brightly like a star. They send comfort our way, like a warm hug amidst all the current chaos, a brilliant choice :) and of course you dont have to like the songs! Im not a big fan of some classical composers, but i still respect them lol As for setting the members apart besides the mics which the people have pointed out, there are some traits to go by, cause of course hairstyle cant be trusted :D Taller broader built - Jin, RM, (and JK) - so eliminating RM you can look for... Tattoos on the right arm and lots of ear piercings - that's JK, Jin is 99% isnt blinged out :D Slender and tall, heart-shaped smile - Jhope Smaller ones - Jimin and Suga, Jimin being more delicate with a higher pitched voice while Suga is broader with a deep voice With Tae it's a set of things - deepest singing voice, big hands, always a lot of facial expressions (bedroom eyes, goofing around etc), very often dressed to be standing out - in white when the rest are in colour, in colour when the rest are in black, with lots of statement earrings and rings; in this performance his shirt has applique, the jacket -some weird strings, and the fancy sandal shoes he has on are ...well, very Tae :D With the rap line it's size oriented - Large for RM, Medium for Hobi and Small for Yoongi :D With the vocal line - by size, plump lips and highest pitch you get Jimin; tall, broad shoulder, high pitch, plump lips, no bling - Jin; tall, muscular, big eyes, bling and tats - JK; tall, deep voice, fancy fit - Tae. Oof, this sounds like a criminals cross examination, but it really helps :D even if you struggle with the faces, you can memorize a couple of traits and deduce who's who :)

Totally unrelated, but did you say "pansit/pancit"? O: is your wife a Filipina? If so, ayyyeee kababayan! 🙌🏽💜 Also, Tae's voice is more soulful/sounds deeper and fuller for me and I always adore those types of voices in any music. Maybe that's why I'm always entranced by his voice so much. 💜

Starting from 10:09 I would say I have the same opinion. Some years ago I came to the conclusion that everything has meaning and it has helped me appreciate people and things a lot more. If someone says/does something I don’t like, I won’t hate them for it because there was probably a reason for what they said/did. It’s taught me to be more objective and accepting.

Monq you can learn them by the color of the mike Gold is jimin Purple is Jk Red is Jhope Black is Suga Blue is RM Light purple is Jin Green is V aka Tae🥰 Hope this helps. It is how I got use to them changing their hair all the time, and now I am use to it🤣💜 P.S. Haley's Mike had all of their colors on her Mike to commemorate their friendship when they exchanged gifts (she gave them friendship bracelets)🤗💜

The songs they chose are mostly the songs they made for Army like Boy With Luv and Microkosmos and a hope song like Spring day to give people some hope none of those songs are recent. And all of them have their own sparkly mic 😂 I feel like you should react to more of their songs that are more hip hop wich they have a tons of them not only singles but also b sides and also their Cyphers 1-4 and a Ddaeng. It’s alright, it took me a couple of days to learn stray kids’ names and they are only 8 members. Stuff like identifying faces with names and voices will be easier in the future

To recognize their faces confidently, you would need to watch them way more I think. So far you have seen just a tiny bit of their stuff and the bestest of the best you still haven´t covered. So naturally, you can´t know who is who, it takes time to learn. Plus you are a multi fandom guy, that means you have to memorize so many more people, lol. Halsey´s mic was bright deep orange btw ( couldn´t get golden, because that color is ChimChim´s ). Colored mics are not for their on stage recognition. People recognize them without problem despite all hair color and hair style changes, you have no idea man.... you have been long enough Army you will tell them apart easily by their gait, posture of standing, profile of their face or silhouette of their body when they dance, shape and stature of their bodies, of their hand gestures when they speak, the way they smile or laugh.... crazy I know, but it is what it is. You have instances when they travel together and paparazzi film them at the airport, sometimes it happens their outfits are almost identical ( Suga + Jimin mainly, OR Suga + Kookie), all in black, covered from head to toe, caps or hoodie on, face masks on, heads down, sunglasses on and yet, you know who is who, it is mainly their gait and shoulder outline but you know :-) So colorful mics ( and color coordinated ear pieces with it) are just for fun and expression of their favorite color. I am not sure why RM had a black mic during this performance ( I do not think that ever happened before as his signature mic color is usually azure blue). People speculated a reason for it could be that the "God of destruction" was at it again and may have broken his own ( which I doubt because they must have replacement mics always ready for sure for cases like this). My own theory is ( let a girl dream), by sharing the same color of mic with Min Suga, he was simply showing his solidarity with and support to Suga ( AgustD) who has been dragged through mud and spat on over and over after his mix tape release.

Ok suga was definitely not “dragged” his mixtape actually was very successful and broke manyyy records. Yes, there were a set of misinformed people who assumed the worst but on the other half there was an even bigger group of fans who supported him through it. Aside from that, RM got a new mic months ago, he posted it up on twt, the reason behind it? Not sure. He just wanted a change I guess.

I know that for me personally, I've come to a point where I realize that I can't go back to working as healthcare administration after being laid off. My next job has to be at a nonprofit. My goal is a bigger more well-known organization like UNICEF, but there are all kinds of smaller local nonprofits that can provide both a paycheck and a feeling at the end of the day that I made a positive impact.

So V have deep voice baritone Jimin have high voice almost like a female voice it's bright Jin and jk you'll have a trouble to differentiate between their voices but you'll know by listening to them more And suga and jhope sometimes they sound so so similar in some songs that I also had trouble to say who raps
