You can also make a small cut where you need to have it bend on the that clear rubber part that is protecting the LEDs just carefully do it so it doesn't cut the actual electronics.

That's a good suggestion, that way you could loop it but still the sticky glue kind of sucks so I don't know if I would trust bending it and have it stay stuck... This is my first ever LED strip review and I had done piles since this video... Look in the video discription for related video... I'm going to have to make a playlist... I reviewed 3 govee strips, govee light bars, sparke strip, geeni prisma strips just to name a few

If you mean extends past the monitor back it's only a matter if you don't mind how it looks to you. If you don't mind it sticking past than it is all good.

If there are shorter ones, which I had not seen from Monster. I've seen shorter from other companies but they required you have a 40" or larger screen and arrive as a full kit that interconnects unlike this.

Only if it is attached via a connector. The brain of the stupid has to be connected. I have a newer video on using connectors. Search my channel for Monster Basics, I have 2 other videos one is bias lighting connecting multiple cut pieces and the other is about different kind of connectors.

I purchased these lights for my son’s room. The remote does not work unless I go up to the tv and point it directly at the lights by putting my hand almost behind the tv. It will not work if I am sitting at his desk, on his bed or etc. Also, the pinched corners are peeling off and causing the whole strip to detach and sag. The led lights are coated in this semi-malleable material that I’m not sure I can cut so that I can use corner connectors.😕

I think corner connectors should be fine, I don't see why it wouldn't. You peel off that water proof coating to expose the contacts. My remote does not seem that bad, your TV must have some good metal within it blocking the remote signal. A 27" computer monitor is a far cry from a large TV.

Might need to place the remote sensor closer to the edge of the TV... Coming this weekend is Geena Prisma LEDs the good & bad and Sparke LED review in 2 weeks and the week after how to interconnect LEDs.

If you only have one power adapter thing, that comes with one package can you still do this?

One power adapter thing? One strip with run off of one USB port. But if you have one strip you can not cut it and have the cut off ends work unless you are really handy can can re attach the contacts that were cut. If you leave as one strip without cutting it''ll fall off maybe after 1 month and might not be sticky enough to re stick

I never tried pairing to a phone ever, didn't even know that as an option with these particular strips. I threw out both the monster strips I purchased into the trash 2 years ago. I use a much better quality brand now.

? I did nothing more than use the remote. I am going to be making another video with more techniques that are better. Like running those 4 strips together as one (different brand) compare thoughts compared to monster my bad experience with Geeni LED straps will probably be another video. Geeni works well... when it works.

i bought those lights but in 16ft and they were working great but out of nowhere the control stopped working then started working the next day. then only a small amount of my lights worked and the rest didn’t. i thought it would start working like normal again just like the remote but it’s been two days and still only a small amount lights up, i don’t know what to do to fix them.

You might have a small break in your strip somewhere... That is my best guess. My fave strips are the Govee ones I've also reviewed; wayyyy nicer than the Monster Basics.

To fix them you may need to purchase a repair kit like I show in my 2 or 3 LED light strips with (monster basics) in the title. You'd have to cut it from where the lights are not working cut out one bad cut line worth and rejoin with connector is prob the easiest way... If my theory of the small break in the strip is correct

@@meli950 And are yours powered by USB??? And if they are do you have them connected to a port with proper power... like a Blue USB connection port rather than a black one which might not have enough power output.

That's not quiet what I did. I bought 4 strips, I had 3 new boxes after having one already installed. I don't use that hub anymore and get a USB 3.0 hub not a 2.0 like I did or just get the new one I purchased and reviewed kzfaq.info/get/bejne/b5uHeZVmnq2umpc.html But if you want a simple 4 port hub like in this video but being 3.0 meaning 4 can work fine with it www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B00XMD7KPU/ I used double sided command strip foam tape but velcro could work.

don't understand the question but I'll assume you meant cut and use the cut off piece? No unless you have the skills and tools to re-attach. The only place to cut properly is from is the cut line areas

I bought a pack because it was only $5 as I was carefully taking off the blue tape (which most of the adhesive came off with it) the actual strip just ripped in half🤦🏾♀️I am highly disappointed, but I guess that what I get for buying $5 leds lol

Yeah the stupid adhesive sticks too well to the paper. I am quite use to that situation or I'd of put some focus on methods to remove that paper from the adhesive. Blue tape? Mine was clear.

PS. You can purchase double sided tape rolls by the way. A thin double sided foam tape works best and easier to work with than the clear stuff.

In a regular USB outlet. If you mean a house receptacle without a USB port on it? Than no. I reviewed a pile of LED strips, click on my channel name than look at playlists I have 13 videos and reviewed about 8 different strips about 4 of which are USB and 4 are wall plug in.

For my desk those Monster strips are too dim... I have Geeni prisma strips... But I no longer use monster... I am using Govee strips on a wall shelf and Govee light bars on the back of my monitor... Have reviews of them all and Sparke strips and about 5 different Govee strips in all

no, there is nothing that needs charging. The remote should include a battery and it has a little piece of clear plastic sticking out from the battery tray that needs to be removed before the remote can function... If you want to learn more about RGB light stips like this click on my channel name I reviewed a pile of them. The USB Govee RGBIC are really really cool and the individual lights in the strip can be all different colors at the same time. I have 2 packages of the USB strips new in a box right now.

Also don't worry about the multiple strips as an only option. Connectors can also be used to connect. Have a video on that as well, hopefully your strips do work and if not that you can return or exchange

I have yet to experience that issue with any one of my 4 remotes... If the plastic tab is removed from the remote and the battery isn't dead and you've tried pointing it directly to the rectangular piece that comes off of the USB adapter and it still does not work you may have to contact monster to resolve unless anyone here had the same issue resolved & wouldn't mind commenting??? Since I have multiple strips I have multiple USB receivers, should one be fault I'd just swap it out for another one. I have another short video on how to make the 4 strips one going up tomorrow and a larger far more detailed video on this going to be Rumble exclusive. Another another I have completed but not going to be live till next week on Sparke LEDs, already recorded. I also have a Geeni Prisma Strip video.

I got the 100 ft one and I’m so mad it came with two 50ft strips and the first one took over a hour to to go around my work out room and powered them back on and it will not go to the right color you click on white and it turns key lime, yellow😢 the second strip, I plugged it in without unrolling it, and it was exactly the same thing. I’ve even paid hundreds of dollars for top made kits and they turned out to be just trash.

I have a review playlist and I DO NOT recommend Monster. This was my first ever RGB strip I ever tried reviewing. I use nothing but Govee brand now. Geeni Prism sicks, Sparkle sucks, and yes I tested a couple of others. I deleted my Govee USB strip video, the USB version doesn't work that good, looks somewhat cool but that USB version isn't good.

I bought 4 boxes, no issue for sticking for me other than the fact that the cover film wanted to take the sticky tap with it and the end where the controller is didn't want to stick. You know I have a video on fixing that issue of it not sticking... I have 12 LED stick videos and about 4 on repairing them... The multi white version from Monster is much better than these strips, the sticky tape used is the cheapest that 3M sells, I'm pretty sure of that.

@@yeseniadiaz2567 I'm not enough into the biology to know that one... If you don't want to attract bugs avoid those 3 colors and avoid bright flowery looking tones. I saw a video on a study did a quick video search, not sure if accurate but you could KZfaq search and find that video "Which Light Color Attracts the Least Bugs?"

A lot of people seem to have that problem. Never had that issue even used more than one from a different pack with no issues. The battery might be dead. There are comments about the remote from others with suggestions.

Here's the really cool thing if you have a 4 pin RGB 5volt on your motherboard it can work for RGB on your computer.

Did you install these already? The Govee strips are much better than these monster basics... especially how cool the RGBIC versions are. I have a super bright RGBIC model I have sitting in a box. Not enough subs to bother opening and installing yet

Govee Strips look wayyyy cooler than Monster Basics... I have reviews on 2 different models of Govee but I have 2 packages sitting in a box that are super high end I am not reviewing, yet.

For this kit unless you only got "white" or single tone light you'd have to be simply missing the remote. Pre opened someone stole it? Factory mess up maybe?

Dead battery or plastic pull tab not removed or direct connection to PC RGB header removes the remote interface connected to the USB connection.

Ummm don't know if they sell remotes alone but if you buy another pack all remotes work to control all the strips. If you have 10 packages that one remote controls then all even connected to different USB ports.

If you connect to a powered USB port even a charging brick that is USB you could do such a thing. Technically you could use it where ever.

@@dababycartransformation6044 There is no reason for the remote not to work. And you pulled the plastic tab from the bottom of the remote so it'd work? Does it look bad or just does not turn on? This strips are normally meant as behind monitor... Home Depot sells room LED strips.

@@dababycartransformation6044 Than you have a different problem. There is 100% no reason you need a computer connected to work. The USB connection is for power only and any USB rated at least 2.5Watts... 0.5Amps at 5 volts is fine.

I certainly hope "you" are not sticking ;). It is common for the sticky tape to stick to the paper, if that is what happened.

Never been sponsored by any company to review anything other than receiving a few free microphones for testing (never paid) mostly reviewed on my other channel. This was the first LED RGB strip I've ever tested. I have a playlist of a pile of other brands; so far Govee is my favorite.

@@Jakeryanshow I don't accept being paid to review anything. It feels like a bribe, I'll accept product to review. I was offered money once before but refused another time was we will pay half the cost of the item and other half after review... Don't accept that either otherwise it tells me if the review isn't what we want as a company even though product is not good we won't cover the cost. KZfaq does not offer support till after 1000 aubs, have never made a penny "yet" but now qualify. Never wrote off any expenses and not allowed to legally due yo lack of any "reasonable income" as Canadian Law states

How so? The remote is line of sight for the most part the brain part of it should be as close as possible to the edge of the item installed on.

I made a pile of other videos on using connectors and other attach methods which are in the description of this video. I've now added a play list of all my RGB light strip and light bar videos. I would never recommend soldering when connectors are so much easier and safer to use. It was not even close to fun soldering my Geeni Prisma strips or my Monster Basic multi-white strips together.

4 Strips, yes I did. Not bad eh ;). If I had a larger monitor or a large TV it would make a lot more sense to do. The strips are dirt cheap, it was either 4 strips or a strip across the top or throw the installed piece into the garbage within a month or 2 of use after it fell off.

After we try enough stuff it's amazing what you can do, I put the monster basics at least 10 feet of it attached together and it worked. BUT the Govee strips I reviewed are so much better than these Monster basics

that brand was terrible. the stick came off when i took the peel off. it wouldnt stick like it said.

I tried a different brand Geeni & it is even worse... The monster paper strip sticks far too hard to the adhesive but the Geeni is great when it works but both ends of the contacts would keep cutting out even thought it was new out of package but the sticky film was 100% better. To fix I actually cut it and soldered the contacts together and it is a more rare 6 pin type. I have a "Sparke" brand on order and will use contacts to connect and talk about the sticky film about it in the review in 2 weeks time.

If you get a different USB powered strip there are some that come in multiple strips. You much be able to use the monster controller to make the strips individually controlled. It is actually hard to find good quality LED strips. PHILIP HUES are highly rated but highly expensive.

Govee Strips are 100% the best I've ever got and reviewed. Do not get the waterproof ones if you want them to stick really good... I have 2 models I've reviewed and I have 2 really high end models still sitting in a box that I have not reviewed.

The directions are horse shit. It says press this. It’s not there. Tap that. It’s not there. I have held the button and downloaded the app 50 times. The thing is a piece of crap

I've not once read any directions. There are FAR better options than these if you want something great, click my place list to see my RGB Light Strip videos... Govee RGBIC strips are amazing but you pay far more money for the quality... uses the Govee APP on the phone for control of those units, the pod control is basic but also has a music reaction mode and is multiple different colors at the same time. If you pay for awesome, you get awesome.... These are dirt cheap & the first RGB strips I have ever installed or tried in my life time. I have tried about 8 other strips since this video & Light bars Govee RGBIC in USB kzfaq.info/get/bejne/Y9CKn7ecu7_Pgo0.html

What APP, never head of such a thing cause these are not wifi or Bluetooth? There is a remote and there is a tab to be removed so the battery has power. I have no clue why you would even need any directions to install these, totally straight forward. Was my first time, never watched any video on how to install, never read one word of directions; it just worked.

My son bought these last week. They are terrible. I’m currently turning them off down or to a soft color repeatedly 50 times a night because they have a mind of there own. I DK what is wrong with them. I’m trying to go to sleep & they keep coming on like I said 50 times that’s a lot I will unplug them a second time tomorrow.Terrible product

Please consider the options on my "playlist" kzfaq.info/sun/PLxiepNzlBZrR18MhVJwJEa3p-dO0E7ed8 these are the lowest end most basic and cheapest strips I have ever reviewed and also the first ever. I have since reviewed about 7 different products... I personally never had the issue you are having, could be unstable supplied power or overheating but I never left that model on over night and have since thrown them in the trash. I'd recommend Govee strips there are many options with many different features to them all. I did not have the issue with the monster basics that you are having but they are also the most "basic" I have ever used.

If you want a USB type strip I recommend the "Govee Dreamcolor USB LED Light Strips RGBIC H6102" which I review here: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/Y9CKn7ecu7_Pgo0.html I've mistakenly left these on over night without issue. That Home Made sign is currently in the entry way of where I live with the LED light strips still attached. The Strips have a control pod on them but the APP that can be downloaded by mobile phone is the best method for use with custom light modes.
