The real sounds are probably so quiet, ambient noise would cover it completely. Sound recording's macro equivalent hasn't been invented yet. But yeah, the noises they put are still hard to take seriously.

There is a documentary that was able to capture sounds on such a minute scale as to record insects drinking water. Its name escapes me, but it has been done before. A gentleman by the name of Chris Watson was able to capture the sound of a solitary ant walking around; this can easily be found online.

Last I checked, spiders or bugs dont make animal noises like monkeys or birds. One thing ive hated about these kinds of shows is the irrelevant animal sounds.

I used to have this friend when I was little who would play with bugs all the time. I remember he put an "earwig" on a grass spiders web. The spider came out and tried to eat it but it got pierced by the earwigs back pincer, and believe it or not fell over on its side. It was so awesome and we let the earwig go.
