Those "cheesy" noises are the actual noises these various creatures make with their mouth parts, fangs, rubbing wings, legs. They use microscopic recording devices inside super small plastic bags that pick up vibrations and translate that to sounds. Now if they could only interpret these sounds.

Down south in the US, water spiders are known as fishing spiders. I can vouch that taking a bite from one is painful. The venom isn’t that potent per se, but those fangs…very painful. 😭

The thing is, Water striders do not actively hunt , they attack insects that have fallen into the water, while the Spider does the same it also hunts other water born insects like Striders. In fact Water striders are a staple of there diet.

The strider can sense too,has a vemonous proboscis,spider's eyesight are usually very poor and even though they have more the strider is still faster. The spider only one because it was bigger.
