When I was a kid one of my favorite baits was raw bacon. Whenever we went camping I could usually talk my Mom out of a couple of strips of bacon & the fish loved that stuff.

I love pond fishing, reminds me of fishing with my brother. He always said it was like fishing in a bathtub, they ain't got no where to run. We would bring 'em home, clean, filet and cook them up with a little corn meal, or I would steam them in foil packets or grill them. I learned a lot from those fishing trips, mostly just wanted to spend time with family. DMFD brings that home feeling for me. Thanks, Robert.

So, my family and I were there that day and had a blast! Robert signed my son’s shirt (this was 2 days ago) and he’s had it on ever since. Hi Rob, the Bear from Beaumont, Tx here. You and Dennis catching those big old channel cats reminded me of a neighbor of mine I had outside of Livingston Texas. He had a bunch of farm ponds but we went to his 77 acre pond that he dug with a bulldozer and set up himself putting in homemade structure made out of 50 model Chevys and tires banded together with wire for the crappie and everything else to use for structure. About a year after he built that pond we went out there with Catawba worms and I kid you not we filled up the back of my Dodge Ram short bed with channel cats anywhere from around 5 lb to I think the biggest one was 20 lb. He had had Texas Parks and wildlife come out and stock the pond with minnows, bluegill, bass ,crappie and channel cat after the pond filled up. We invited a bunch of people for a 4th of July catch clean and cook fish fry and everybody ate till the belly ached and then we watched the fireworks show at lake Livingston. God bless America those were some good times.

Rural Alabama folks love our catfish, crappie and bluegill swimming in hot grease. We also like them blackened cooked over a campfire too.. Turn that cast iron lid over and stick it on some hot coals, put some butter in the lid and get it smoking, add that seasoned filet .. oh man.. All the campers in your area are drawn to the smell...👈. We share with everyone just like y'all did.

That part where you and Denis caught that big cat . reminds me of when a best friend Richard dresse and myself caught a huge trout at a lake man what a time the lake was cachuma lake Richard jumped in the lake to trap the big trout and through it on shore.
