i agree with Cloe, Rainbow High came out with too many dolls all at one time / in a short period of time and i feel like that could be the reason for the decline in quality. too many dolls produced and not enough sales / purchases to keep them afloat properly

I HAVE LOVED the whole Rainbow High journey of buying them, excited in the hunt for them. The whole ride has been so fun. Now I'm not shopping for them, I'm like " well now, what do I do with my life ? "🤣...I do collect MH & Barbie, so I have that. But seriously....its crazy how much of a loss this feels like ! I have 54 RH/SH dolls & always redressing, styling, so I'll always have & treasure those.

This is probably just my newfound pessimism coming out, but that claim that this new doll line isn’t doing backstories to promote creativity just sounds like an excuse for laziness to me. Giving character backstory and attributes IS a way to promote creativity and help kids and young people learn about social interactions and connections. Like, how would Clawdeen react in this imaginary scene I’m putting her in? What about Toralei or Draculaura? Also, you NEED characters that are mean or snobby or even villainous so that kids can learn about these negative attributes in a safe environment. Personally, I’d say that falsely portraying every character as nice and positive is actually detrimental to a kid’s social growth and really sets them up to not know how to handle people like that in the real world.

If your talking about g3 there is villains and conflict they just aren’t the characters that used to be villains. Like Nephra isn’t a villain any more but toralai, toralai’s mom, the wolf pack, heaths dad, in the movie Jackson is a teacher and a villain there’s also that shapeshifting fox guy and the witches that tried to kill all vampires in the second movie.

@@jiggerblayne Oh, I know! I was half referring to that upcoming doll line that Elvira said she was in a meeting for where the company said they're not doing backstories, and half to the direction that Rainbow High is taking where the Shadow High rivalry was just totally taken away. I'm really glad that G3 Monster High is continuing with those things even if they're changed from G1!

IMO Fang Club members should be told about the dolls early, be allowed to preorder as many as they want, and also have the option to order the dolls without packaging (to reduce costs and would be healthier for the planet also). This way Mattel would make more money as well and ALL the collectors would be happy and not just the scalpers.

Passed on the creature....she seemed more like an action figure to me than a doll. I would totally buy her for 30$ bucks but no more than that. In order for me to pay that full price, I would need to have more included with the doll. For example: extra hands, a spear, a net, an underwater background. She just needed more. The screen printed on bathing suit....I wonder if they could have made that from sequins instead? I guess a collector doll for some isn't a collector for others. If I was a MH only collector than yes I would pay that price but I like to put my money where I feel like I can get the most value. Either elevate the doll or elevate Include) the accessories.

Dolls can have a story and still be great for imaginative play. It feels sort of like a way to save money. Like "we don't want to make a series or print diaries or pay people to write additional content". I get not every line can be MH or EAH but even the kind of character profiles on the back of boxes can do a lot to give kids ideas of how to start the imagination part.

I loved the Fallout show. Can't wait for season 2! I couldn't do the Creature doll. I hope I can get her from a third party later. Creature from the Black Lagoon is my favorite Universal monster.

I don’t need a back story for a character but it is nice and I do get attached to characters I like more. Monster high I think is a great example of that people are very passionate about the characters they like.

Rainbow/Shadow High was nice while it lasted. I have run out of room so it's okay that MGA isn't making new dolls I have to have. I lucked out and found a Poppy Rowan Runway for under $50. I couldn't buy her when she came out. I thought I could wait and buy one after Christmas, which didn't happen, she was gone. I have twenty dolls, including two sets of twins. I didn't need to buy every doll, there are dolls I missed, but I won't try for now.

I'm a huge RH fan ! But I have not & don't plan to get any of the reboot dolls. If they have some good ones that come in the future, maybe. But the loss of articulation is a big turn off for me.

My daughter & found the mini Barbie’s $2.88 each at Walmart I’m still on the hunt for a color reveal but we got a cutie reveal, fashionista and pop reveal. I didn’t buy any yet with accessories I think those are $5.88 each 🩷🩷🩷

I’m waiting for MH to give us the entire Universal Monsters, we are just 4 Monsters away to get the entire crew Wolfman, Invisible Man, The Mummy and The Phantom of the Opera; maybe that’s the reason why the didn’t do Operetta in that direction 🤷🏻‍♂️ cause they waiting to use her daddy. I just love The Creature from the Black Lagoon 💚🤩💚.

I like The Creature from the black Lagoon, but I got Dracula & Frankenstein/Bride & those are more my vibe. So, I won't get this monster, but she is cool.

Me again...😂 I didn't watch any episodes for MH or RH...I'm older, & only played with Barbie as a child. So, I just fell in love with the dolls, not the characters or stories with them. But I can see if people like that too.

I would like to have a story behind the dolls, I feel that you would feel closer to them and know about them. I’m thinking that this is why Barbie has lasted so long, she has a history behind her.

I'm kind of okay with some of the downloads dying out. Then again. I feel like I got burned out with rainbow high. Coming out with so much at once. It happened to me with monster high as well. They just came out with just too much too fast.

not beating the dead horse, but i remember buying my sister a RH doll and she saying to me: "i don't like this doll, can we change for a LOL OMG?" and she was 7yrs soo i guess that was the moment i realised that RH was not for kids and iven some adults because most adult collectors, prefer Barbie if is for a fashion doll, and i may sound silly, but yeah, also i agree a LOT with you guys, RH never give us story, personalities nothing! Also we have to take on a account the no diversity, most RH are White and all dolls have straight hair, weird again because a few time before we got OMG with have literally black hair, black dolls like in every collection and series soo we dont know what was going on.
