The intro to Shagaru Magala is kinda symbolic how shagaru sees the hunter as not just prey but an equal it needs to hold no bars against and go all out

I love how Shagaru starts examining the Kindred Hunter and then takes flight showing itself in all its majesty as a sign of respect. It knows who you are, it knows what you did, it knows how dangerous you are, it knows it has to deal with you, but mostly it recognises your skill and respects that.

I like how in the beginning cutscenes, the monsters seem to be judging your hunter. Like how in this one the monster stalks around to the front, with its head facing the hunter the entire time as if examining her for weak points.

If Capcom were to make a monster hunter movie it would be based on this story

The caravan leader became one of my favorite video game characters ever, he always believed in me from being naked fighting the sand whale to becoming a legendary g-rank hunter he was always there.

The series had seen many incredible fights up to this point. But this is the first one that truly felt climactic, mainly because he's the final boss of the first real story mode. Hell, even the music is different, most of the music in Monster Hunter is made to represent the Monster's nature, like Zinogre's electric guitar tunes, or Deviljoh's stompy theme. But here, the music's heroic tone is not focused on the Monster, but rather the Hunter, which after many trials is about to become the hero who freed the world from the frenzy virus.

Fucking love how Shagaru just sizes you up. The damn thing really wants revenge.

I like this dragon not just for its looks but also because of the way the story went. It was a unknown dragon that nobody knew about and the player ends up defeating it and everyone celebrates. Then you get that cutscene where its still alive and it sheds. Then the player gets told that the body was missing. Then we see how much trouble that gas it exudes causes for the world. I think there was even a legend surrounding this one. Then when you face it for the final time, the dragon seems to recognize you and it actually waits a few moments before engaging you like it's analyzing you or giving a sort of salute to you as a equal and worthy opponent before the final battle begins.

Really cool fight and great theme too! The thing I love about this fight is that it really tests the skills hunters have learnt so far.

The jump slash with the final combo gave me the shivers...Epic ending, this deserves to be watched.

It originally was the 'theme' for Lao Shan Lung battle's final area. "The Last Decisive Battle" was the name of the track. That was in Monster Hunter.

Nothing quite beats the Monster Hunter theme (29:05). Always gives such a feeling of adventure.

I grew up with this series, and today I am think it is just awesome that i played this games. I spendt more time for MH than for any other game!

Gotta say this, Monster Hunter sure have come a long way. From almost no storyline element in the first game to now fighting this monstrosity to save the ecosystem, journeying with comrades, meeting new friends, going new places ... I salute you Capcom for making this game franchise one of the best game I ever played. Now release this and Monster Hunter Frontier G to the west goddammit!

*Me after finally beating G-rank* I... feel... empty...

I still remember my showdown with Shagaru Magala, full Najarala set and Dear Lutemis. First attempt, got carted twice, but we nailed a few mounting attacks and cut the tail (not the horns though) and came out on top. (Whereas in MHGen, at the first opportunity to hunt a S.Magala I just had to do it in Prowler mode.)

This boss was toooooo epic Omega. So many epic moments happened. Except for the Infection Negative Effect. That part was scary xD.

As far as I can tell, it basically puts them in permanent rage mode. Not sure if they get stat changes, or if their attacks transfer the virus to the player or not (And yes, the player can catch it, and it halts natural recovery and drastically drops weapon affinity after it incubates over a few seconds.)

I always wondered why this part seemed like an ending, but wasn't an ending, in MH4U. Makes sense, it was the original ending!

I'm glad to see monster hunter devs are taking it a little more seriously with the improved cutscenes and monster design.

The cut scene that plays after Infected Congalala is defeated for the first time seems to support your theory.

I really hope Capcom brings this over, this looks like a pretty fun finalé

Gore is by far the dopest monster in the series I know some beg to differ but I haven't been empressed with any other monster since. Love Gore to death wish he would make a return would love to see him in Rise.
