Not hidden gem. People regarded this as the best MH in it's time. Even when 3U was out.

I would say Portable 3rd was more of a hidden gem since it was only released in Japan.

Notice how the gunner lady fires *two tranq shots* at the rathian. That is also reflected in the game! In all of them!

Any 1st to 4th gen Hunter could relate to this one individual Hunter, whether it be them grinding and playing solo or being carried by higher ranking hunters. Hell I could relate to how I don't immediately wear a single armor piece until I completed the whole set.

Freedom Unite was my first entry into the series. That was New Year present from my grandma. Now she died but I'm still love Monster Hunter. One of the best gifts in my live.

I just watched this video after dusting off my PS Vita for the first time in a while, while I appreciate the upscaling the AI provides it's just a little uncanny at times. but I also heavily appreciate the upscaling, because the other video you have at the original resolution shows just how small 480x276 really is.

This were definitely simpler but happier times, in my opinion. Inconvenient but at the same time exciting, hard but immensely rewarding and jam-packed with so much content I think it still holds up to this day. While the series has improved considerably in terms of mechanics and it is still incredibly fun today. As a veteran playeI accept that this is mostly rooted in nostalgia, but there is a certain magic that this game has that makes me come back and play it today despite its age. I can't wait for the release of Wilds.

:') Nostalgy. I love the 2nd gen, it is simply great. No cringe things just a hunter and his friends fighting real animals in real enviroments. I also like the 3rd and 4th gen but the 2nd will be always my favourite. And you better dont ask me what I think about the 5th gen...
