I personally found the music to be arguably the best in the series, but the complaint about the hub music is totally valid. At some point I had to switch the song playing, and now I often switch the hub theme so it doesn't get stuck in my head.

I started MH with freedom unite, played all the games since, and honestly I think that world was kind of a spin off for me, made to appeal more people, while rise is more in line with what I would expect from an MH game, but with all the craze that came with world (and so many people starting the series on it) I can understand why some would see rise as something different that what they were hoping for, it all comes down to previous experience I guess. Anyway I'm gonna enjoy the hell out of rise PC, and I hope others will too.

Low graphical fidelity tends to make good devs compensate with stylistic flair. Monster Hunter Rise is exactly that kind of game, and getting to play it at a minimum 60FPS on mid end hardware is a big deal. It doesn't need gimmicks like RTX. The visuals are conveyed through the design, and the low demand on hardware is good because Monster Hunter is performance dependent.

@Gayhan- 2 жыл бұрын
@@Brutalious MHW did not fail. The slap on weapon designs is a separate issue from the art style, also amor design was awesome what are you talking about? MHW art style and aesthetics were realistic and atmospheric like it used to be with MH before MH tri and P3rd. People who say MHW looks bad and colorless say that because they are used to this portable MH style.

World and Rise seem like stepping stones for the series. I'm looking forward to seeing where they move next. Personally I missed the fidelity of World in the Rise Demo of PC so it would be nice if they could get that fidelity on PC still while also serving up a version for Switch with lower fidelity graphics.

im grinding for that 999 in Iceborne and i love the game but rise to me seems meh...They can't hide was a game dev for a portable toy spec and audience and up scalated how much they could. To mee it seems a bad japanese anime mix no sense for kids. All my friends and me who started MH in World say the same thing pretty much and no one of us is buying it.
@cizd
@cizd 2 жыл бұрын
@@kerathil6934 Part of the issue is that they don't have high fidelity textures and models for a lot of the monsters and armor. That's why they started over in MHW. I think they're trying to bridge the gap and make a really scalable version of the game, but it will take time. Hopefully the next main series entry can give us that, but who knows.

@@kerathil6934 it honestly hurts to see the same exact take from MHWorld players, over and over again. It's always graphics, graphics, graphics, Rise not good cuz graphics. I enjoyed world, I have 1600 hours in it, but even I have to admit that many of the players that started with world, continually miss the point on why Monster Hunter has survived for 18 years. Let me give you a hint: It definately wasnt because of the series looking like a PS2 game for 4 generations straight.

Only question i have, does the pausing work playing solo? When comparing this game to World, the ability to pause the game, as ive at least seen in the PC demo, is a huge decider. @@andyespinozam Seeing as all previous monster hunter games that were exclusive to Nintendo systems haven't, I wouldn't get your hopes up. Something small but to me very significant. Install size is a quarter of what MH world is. Friends can download it in a day. And even when Expansions are released it probably won't take up 50gb.

The key thing about Rise on PC for people that played on Switch are mods. Rise, while being the best MH game in terms of gameplay, it's also one of the most barebones when it comes to content and endgame loop/activity. Mods can really introduce much needed armor set skins, actual equipment from Apex monsters and most important, randomly generated quests (like Investigations from World) because for the first time ever in a MH game I ran out of quests to complete and that happened at the 95 hour mark.

@@amini011 We'll probably get a lot of mods for Rise. Giving what people achieved in World and what people usually do with other games I wouldn't be surprised if we saw full conversion of monsters from World to Rise. But just simple things like Quest Editors/Generators would do the trick for me since the biggest problem with Rise really is the fact that there are a finite number of quests and they aren't a lot compared to what MH usually delivers.

Got this game today as a gift because rise and sunbreak were on sale for their last digital event (love my friends who got me it). I started playing mon hun back in the 3ds days with mh4u and generations. Man, you wanna talk about grindy and so much content, mh4u was LOADED with monsters to hunt with each a weakness to certain weapon types and each having a different kit, it was NUTS. Mon hun world was this super pretty beautiful takeover of the older monhuns where there was no loading between zones and that everything looked amazing. The soundtrack sounded amazing and the effects were shockingly awesome. Rise brings that though to a different viewpoint with less focus on the effects and pretty environments to a much more open world of possibilities and new doors to open with the addition of multiple sets that were familiar to those who played the older games. Generations integrated the sending off your palico to trade/train/gather resources and better yet, you could be your palico for specific quests while your hunter would be in town, so it made your palico kit matter may more than just "oh bombs sounds good". I think every monhun is a buy but due to the commonality of games popping up and out into the freespace with new ideas and better features (like skippable cutscenes... talking to you, WORLD), it makes you wonder if you are playing each game right given the amount of content inside of the game itself!

I’ve noticed with Rise..mouse and keyboard..the mouse buttons don’t always register the inputs I press and it messes up my rhythm..now I’m forced to use a controller for the first time…had no problems with world/ib..wonder if it’s cuz it’s a console port..since I’m not used to controller buttons for different moves I look like a fool..instead of evade I’ll attack…it’s so weird using a controller in mh

If I'd recommend any Monster Hunter game to start with, it would definitely be Rise. It's very beginner friendly and had some of the most chill hunts I've done especially solo.

I only played a little bit of Monster Hunter World and that's it and even then, it's been a while. I already have Monster Hunter Rise for the Nintendo Switch, which is where I will start and then I'll jump into Monster Hunter World. Monster Hunter Rise still offers a challenging experience, while also being a good starting point for newcomers. The Wirebug allows for some additional traversal options and it enables players to scale hard to reach areas. It also allows for some aerial combat maneuvers. However, as good as the game is, the music is a bit lacking, especially in the hub area. The constant notifications are very frustrating and irritating. I wished that there was an option to disable them somehow. With that aside, I'm going to eventually start playing the Switch version at some point. Thanks once again Karak for another detailed, honest and unbiased review!
