I have this monopod. It just brillant. So useful in so many ways. I sometimes leave it standing. But i do stand next to it just in case. But it is a very well thoughy out peice of kit. I love mine. A tip if you are going to use it as a tripod alternative. Set the self timer, then use a remote shutter realease, that way, all movement has stopped by the time the shutter opens.

Thanks for sharing! It is clutch when I know I'm dealing with crowds and I need to get over them.

I have this and I like it...but I find that the twist locks are not as good as they were at the beginning...I wish it had the Manfrotto locking mechanism instead....is the Manfrotto XPRO "better"? I know it has smaller feet but I would never trust ANY monopod to stand on its own with a camera on top! No way!

manfrottos aren’t perfect either. they can snag, the locking mechanism can get loose (at least that’s the case a long while back, and they are slightly bulky. using a vidpro tall monopod these days and it’s been good, not nearly as solid, way lighter and faster

@@CharlieVN yeah...my old Manfrotto monopod wasn't perfect. I find monopods very useful. I have a Sachtler tripod which I use for ceremonies etc but monopods are my weapon of choice for most of the day. I can get smooth push in movement etc. The Sirui P-424S is good- I just don't like the twist locks much...I'll see if I can look and compare some of the new Sirui and a Manfrotto Xpro soon...maybe I just need a new toy! I usually put a Canon 90D with a Sigma 18-35mm f1.8 on it or a C100 mk2 on it...I confess at one point I tried a Canon XF300 camcorder on it...maybe too much! Lol . thanks for the response
