I have a Sirui monopod and a tripod from their waterproof line. The waterproofing is amazing for the things that I shoot!

Nice overview. I'm thinking about the VA-5 head for my P204S. Tried an older Manfrotto 701HDV head I had and there's just too much drag on the fluid pan to be usable when the monopod is extended and the counter-balance makes it difficult to achieve smooth tilts and keep the monopod steady. The VA-5 looks quite fluid there. Is it fluid enough to tilt without the pan/tilt handle, when you need to work in close ?

It’s OK for that but not great. Still pretty “springy”

@@theC47 Checked out the VA-5 head with my P204S and Canon HF-G40 in a camera store today. I wanted to like it but found the tilt counter-balance too reactive - 'springy', like you said - the torque made it difficult to achieve smooth steady tilts working in close with the handle dropped down or removed. I found a Manfrotto 700RC2 much more suitable in that regard. Tried the Manfrotto BeFree Live 'fluid' head also - in a word, 'garbage'.

Do you know if the first monopod with the spike is TSA approved for carry on? with its small size, it would be handy to throw in a carry on.

Not sure but I carry it on all the time! That spike is very very short so I would assume so but not 100% sure.

Guys if you have a cage like that. Can you still use a godox flash on ita hot shoe?

Jay Ryan Lopez you should be able to. There are also lots of 1/4-20 cold showers adapters ghat can be mounted to the cage. That’s what I have the Wireless GO attached to.

You even spell it and still say Suray. It is Si-ru-i.

I say it that way because I was told by someone at the company in the US that that is how they pronounce it.
