Interesting, many of those bosses are actual mythology figures from all over the world. Like the haunted well launching plates, it is a very famous yokai story, and the giant bull is one of the guardian of the realm of the dead (Gozuki in japanese).

Oh man, this game. Some of those bosses I've learned to just tank, because actually avoiding damage is just not worth it. That said, the plant and cat bosses are kind of sad how easy they are. There's a spot you can sit in where they can't hit you. Just wait for the occasional shot that goes to you, and swing. If you miss, no big deal, wait for the next one. It's a fun game though.

Some of these are basic and even copies of each other, but others are actually rather clever. That you can beat all projectiles back at the enemies is a mechanic that doesn’t really appear much anymore.

That darn dragon on round 8 killed me more than everything else combined when I streamed this a couple weeks ago. I just crouched on the ground as Bert and prayed I could kill it before it could kill me. Never occurred to me to DIVE!

Worth noting that there's actually a boss missing here. The "version 2" giant spider, which appears in the same level as the Reaper and that caterpillar thing. The dumb part is, it's the one boss you dont really have to fight (as you get the level key from the Reaper before it) and if you DO fight it, you will then be stuck in that level for good. Softlocked. A really stupid glitch. Not that it's an interesting or unique boss anyway... it's literally the spider a 2nd time except with a mark on top of it showing that it's the second version. Other than that, totally identical fight. No differences whatsoever. Hardest part of the game though isnt the bosses: It's trying not to go insane during the infurating labyrinth of the 6th level. I've always hated that place.
