There is just something relaxing about these old games. They take me back to a much simpler time.

A good friend of my mom's once taught me how to clear this entire game when I was a little kid. We were obsessed with it. She'd come over to have coffee with my mom almost every day, we'd turn on the game, and just have loads of fun for a little while before she left. 😁

Monster Party also has one of the best twist endings.

Ah Monster Party. My childhood. One of the first games my Dad bought after purchasing a Nintendo in 1989. The name gave me nightmares but my sis, myself and one of our babysitters played it. I enjoy watching it from time to time... But looking back I can't help but wonder why Dad bought this game, let alone let my sis and I play it. (We both were under 10)

one of the most satisfying things in gaming is actually beating this game. Think I was 11 when I finally did beat it. Ended up beating it a second time as well.

I played this game as a kid, and when I later played Sonic 3 and Knuckles I realized that the background in Lava Reef Zone Act 1 (with parallax) resembled the background in level 3 in this game, with the stalactites and stalagmites on the top and bottom and the pulsating line in between.

What an incredibly strange game ._.

I like this game's mechanic of having the characters play so radically different... I might get this game at some point...

When the Spider Boss says “I’ll suck all your blood” I was amazed that the Nin-Censors let that through?

The first stage is a bit gruesome, which is weird because I don't remember the rest of it being that bad in comparison.

I'd like to know what the developers intended with the ending. Bert is Mark's ally throughout the game, but then they end it with Bert giving Mark a cursed gift and apparently threatening him with the baseball bat. Was Bert lying to Mark, and they were the ones invading a peaceful planet? Was Bert indeed a figment of Mark's imagination, and now this "Bert" is encouraging Mark to use his bat as a weapon in the real world? Granted, there's a good chance the developers were just joking around and thought an ending with a double dose of 80s horror movie-style "gotchas" would be clever given the theme of the game, but still, I do wonder.

Can you imagine this classic on today's game systems?

for those of you who say this game is too hard.... bullshit. certain enemies that drop health pickups can just give you another one if you walk back to where the were to let them respawn, then just grab another health pickup a few more times. it won't work all the time, but it gets your health up a lot faster. same thing works with the pills.
