I saw the game for $4.99, and I thought it seemed like a must buy, but my game backlog is kind of huge. Thanks for helping me add another one to it! Only played for about 20 minutes so far, but I can see it becoming very addictive.

Monster Sanctuary is definitely one of the best games when it comes to team-building a monster-based party. Although challenging, it is probably my favourite monster taming game out there. I did enjoy playing the Randomizer when the DLC came out, but slightly peeved they introduced more achievements cause I'm no longer 100% now!

I love the difficulty curve in MS. It really rewards you past a point for building a good team. Plus weaknesses matter at times based on the area you are in so it encourages using other teams based on your location.

Hi I just started playing this out of curiosity, I looked up Pokémon like games and this was the first recommendation that popped up online... I'm about 20 hours in right now and my god its like the perfect mesh of your 2013 8bit hack n slash adventure game mixed with FF/Persona combat and a common but fresh storyline regarding using animals for personal benefit. If you enjoy being meticulous and creating a cheeky combo with your monsters definitely give this game a shot, its been a marker for me to look forward to playing this game when I have free time. Its fun and rewards a curious mind. ( This vid popped up on my timeline, I haven't watched the video during the time of this comment but I'm sure Sally makes the same points.)

It has tonnes of replay value, playing master mode on a new game really tests your understanding of the games mechanics. It's also on sale on most platforms, one of my favourites, I think I'm on my 3rd or 4th playthrough.

this game sits up in my top metroidvania titles of the past 10 years along w chasm and dead cells it’s easily one of the best games of the style of rpg it is no doubt

When I first played this game, I remember not using buffs or debuffs much. Thinking I could power through, and to a point I did. That point being the guy who had the Koi. Annihilated me for a long while. Until I did research and figured out buffs/debuffs actually matter. Then I smashed him.

Thank you for this video! One question,. Are there towns with like a lot of NPCs uou can talk to? From watching a lot of videos of this game the world seems a little empty as far as NPCs .Is that correct?

I wouldn't say it's empyt but the game mainly focuses on your exploration so there isn't too much NPC interaction outside of the Keeper Tower

@@SallymumbleI did it :) I played like 1hour, it's great :D I have like 7 or 8 monsters, starting with the Toad, because I get the importance of a good healer. I had a bird to fly a little, a caterpillar to burn some roots blocking the way... It's just great. I saw the Team17 logo, and I can't help to think that they wanted to create a Metroidvania with a worms team going around, and unlocking jumps and ropes... then ended up creating this game instead, haha It would have been really cool as well.

i just started a NG+ Master mode, bravery, permadeath, randomizer, chaos relic run.... its pretty hard so far and have done some hard resets

I played this game on Switch and have ... mixed opinions. I like the combination of monster battling and Metroidvania, but I lost patience with its difficulty "curve" being so wildly bipolar between Keeper Duels and -- well, everything else that is _not_ a Keeper Duel. Made the battle system feel like two completely different games.... Say whatever you want about Pokemon being "too easy" (and I'll agree) but at least they are consistent about it!

"Metroidvania with turn-based combat" is about the worst game idea I've ever heard. Credit to the dev, it's not nearly as monotonous as it could have been but the whole stop-start nature of it is a MASSIVE turn off for me... imagine playing Super Metroid or SOTN but you need to stop and spend 3-5 mins in a very, VERY basic turn-based battle *every time* you come across an enemy lmao
