I just recently (within the last week) managed to get the complete edition. I've already put 60+ hours into it. I've gone sleepless nights just grinding and getting max levels on all my Mons. Even if I'm not gonna use them. Just having them is fun. Need to start Hackers soon though. Really wanting to finish the collection of Mons.

Hi I just started playing this out of curiosity, I looked up Pokémon like games and this was the first recommendation that popped up online... I'm about 20 hours in right now and my god its like the perfect mesh of your 2013 8bit hack n slash adventure game mixed with FF/Persona combat and a common but fresh storyline regarding using animals for personal benefit. If you enjoy being meticulous and creating a cheeky combo with your monsters definitely give this game a shot, its been a marker for me to look forward to playing this game when I have free time. Its fun and rewards a curious mind. ( This vid popped up on my timeline, I haven't watched the video during the time of this comment but I'm sure Sally makes the same points.)

"Metroidvania with turn-based combat" is about the worst game idea I've ever heard. Credit to the dev, it's not nearly as monotonous as it could have been but the whole stop-start nature of it is a MASSIVE turn off for me... imagine playing Super Metroid or SOTN but you need to stop and spend 3-5 mins in a very, VERY basic turn-based battle *every time* you come across an enemy lmao

Can't wait for Coromon to arrive at my house, I bought the physical copy from Limited Run Games. I never got to play it, I heard so many good things about that game, including Gym Leader Ed mentioned about it. Also, I couldn't resist in buying Cassette Beasts Deluxe Edition from Super Rare Games. I heard that's a great title as well.

I'm a big fan of DW2, played it 20-25 times since 2001, but the 3rd part was always annoying because you only have several digimons and can't see wild digimons around you. Travelling (lots of travelling) also makes it a big problem to finish the game. Thanks to you I finally saw the ending after more than 20 years))

I realised something about Jade cocoon 2 that you might find interesting. The final boss is the maiden alcana mentioned in the elder's tales in Jade cocoon. For whatever reason wether localisation or something else the final boss was given a different name but it seems clear to me they are meant to be the same character. A female character who is the mother of monsters.

Honestly, I would love to see Digimon Survive serious tone with Cyber Sleuth digimon collecting and combat, then have next order on a different branch (which already is being digimon world while cyber sleuth is digimon story) keeping the more v-pet / taking care of digimon aspects and going deeper on it, cause while I loved next order, I feel like it's got a lot of cool ideas that were left at super shallow levels, for instance, I love the semi automated combat, but wish we had more options as tamers / partners, not just who they target specifically, MP use or tossing disks, perhaps commanding a fighting style (so for example command melee, or use specific elements) and have Digimon be more autonomous with discipline having relevance not only for digievolutions but also on wether they'll obey you or not, perhaps even limiting the type of ccommand you can give them to their intelligence or something

By grinding in TemTem, you mean like lving up normally, or like grinding for EVs/IVs similar to Pokémon?

Cyber Slueth needed only a few changes to be great. Firstly, they needed to lock your Digimon in to whatever they were. Any Digimon being able to be every other Digimon meant that all learned moves are available to all Digimon and it meant only exclusive moves could have any interesting mechanics. Imagine the choices to digivolve and de-digivolve stayed the same, but each Digimon were locked into the digivolutions you chose. So you have a champion and choose which ultimate it becomes. From that point on, that's the only ultimate it can become. Same with whatever it's champion form was. Next change, passives and active abilities are treated the same and must fit on your slots. Within those slots you place abilities (both passive and active). This further encourages them to make interesting and fun ability options, something the game seriously lacked. Give more variety by having a sliding scale between more stats, but fewer ability slots, with more stats and ability slots for higher form Digimon. Lastly, make it so that your Digimon remember the level they were at before changing form. Not to make the new form at that same level, but just to make it so if you de-Digivolve back into that form, it retains its level. This means you can train each stage of a Digimon to level 100, gaining useful abilities and passives even from weak forms for maxing out your Digimon. Only other suggestion is to maybe treat equipment as ability slots too. Like they fill those slots. Could allow for some robust balancing.

I would gladly pay Destiny levels of ripoff for a remake of JC2 to ps5. There aren't games as inspired or innovative in monster taming anymore.. sadly because of the persistent pokemon comparison.

I love this game the open world catching is the most fun part of the game. Reminds me of the open world web swing mechanics of the recent spiderman games. The other thing I really like and I don't know of it's in the other newer Pokemon games is the ability to change out moves. Such a game changer instead of the static once you unlearn a move it's gone
