I thought the same thing, and as someone who's played all 3 EQ titles extensively, EQOA is still my favorite. Just heard about this game last night, I can't wait to play it!

EQOA was my childhood , it was my gateway into MMOs. I would love nothing more than a remake

Still remember running my level 8 Gnome wizard to all the teleports, using invis to sneak through high level zones, sweating my balls off looking for a place to recast before I dropped invis and risked getting murked by a group of redcons in two seconds flat. Played EQOA religiously until FFXI and WOW came out, then most of my guildies abandoned ship and I followed some to FFXI, another great mmorpg in its own right.

@@menghao737 Sounds very similar to my story. Started with RuneScape Classic as my first MMO. Was able to get a job in high school to pay for EQOA, the network adapter & subscription. THen got FFXI & the HDD. Got a decent PC and played vanilla WoW. Best MMO years of my life. I regretted leaving XI for WoW to a certain extent, but WoW was fun and it was great to be part of the phenomenon. Earlier this year I put a ton of hours onto the HorzionXI private server and that was dang close to my vanilla XI experience. After XIV ended up being a let down with it being another WoW-esque theme park clone the only hope I have had is really Pantheon: Rise of the Fallen. Though, I have watched M&M and i will 100% try it!

I mean, it's a classic fantasy MMO, it shouldn't bring any new stuff. New=/=classic.

@Brekner Well in some ways yeah but still. I believe there's plenty devs could do and still be true to do the classical stuff.

@@nyqa Well, there's really not that much tho. You're limited, you can't add stuff that doesn't feel classic, like, I dunno, flying mounts. If you can name something new that they could add and still keep the classical feel, feel free to add it here.

What is nice is any race can get a sort of enhanced darkvision. When you make a character you can pick 2 non combat "fluff" traits and all races have some level enhanced night vision available to them. Humans wont get ultravision but they will have the option of choosing a better night or dark vision enhancement.
