Master angler haha obviously you don’t fish, no one says that. It’s like calling yourself a stable genius! However yes the man can fish but don’t forget it’s just fishing and it doesn’t take a degree, most people learn to fish before they drive, also so do you call Lewis Hamilton a master driver?

WOW almost 250k subscribers, I remember tuning in when you had maybe 250. It just shows viewers enjoy good, honest, simple content compared to some of the crazy fishing videos out there. Thanks for all you do and sharing with us your days on the water!

I think the big selling point here is his voice. Some people just have that relaxing effect when they talk. Plus he’s just a chill dude and doesn’t try and sell people on gear etc. just does his thing and shares it.

I agree. Its kind of like listening to Bob Ross while he is painting. I get so tired of alot of these fishing videos using click bait in their posts as well as loud crazy antics in their videos. Nice to just enjoy someone having a peaceful time on the water. I live close to a nice river filled with smallmouth and have been considering doing some filming as well to share. If I do, I will definitely be using his simple relaxing approach to no BS fishing. Definitely enjoyable to watch, and that shows with the subscriber numbers. Very well done.

@@StonerCreek74 yeah I go fishing not only for the action and thrill but also for the nature and quiet time within. So that’s the biggest part for most people that’s why they enjoy his videos here more than these Crazy insane screaming people jumping around on a loud motorboat. That’s just a totally different approach and it’s a very good example with bob ross actually! The difference watching marvel avengers and bob Ross 😂👌

@@kylewright7882 I think the reason why I like Matt's channel is because it doesn't feel like I'm watching a fishing show. Instead, I feel like I'm just sitting in his kayak fishing with him. Imagine how much worse this channel would be if he was started off each video with loud, obnoxious music and was like, "It's ya boy Matt again, back at it again bringing you tight lines. Don't forget to smash that like button!"

I'm almost 61... might get a Yak soon. I haven't fished in years. Mostly fly fished for trout. Caught plenty of Small mouth bass, rock bass, and other assorted pan fish, mostly by mistake. Have a huge lake practically in my back yard, (Also, lots of small streams and large rivers close by), where I used to take my 18 foot Skeeter bass boat, when I fished for other things in the heat of the summer. It cut into my golf, so I sold it long ago. I no longer play golf, so I should go back to fishing. I still have all my rods and such. Yeah, gonna get a Yak soon. Thanks Matt. Stay Safe.

Forty degrees!! That's a doggone heatwave!! It's a chilly 75 here in Virginia. You lucky dog! ( I've only caught one muskie in my whole life!! But thousands of big smallies!)...maybe hundreds!

I’ve caught so many smallies out of wv but never a musky. Definitely a bucket list fish around here people say 1 in 10,000 cast fish lol

@@Wilcox93 New River is a good bet. That's were I caught mine. I had a large one on but he broke me off. I don't target them. I was using live shiners for small mouth when both of them hit on the same day. I've seen lots of them in the river. Radford on down is good.

I can't wait to get my boat finished and on the water. I picked up a 11' foam sailboat core, very used, but the foam was solid. Did a PMF wrap on it last year, and about to do a topcoat of truck bed liner. Two weeks from now, I should be on the water in a makeshift kayak, if I can come up with a solid outrigger plan. Bottom is completely rounded and smooth, so definitely outrigger for stability. My game is about to go next level.

Most people by me consider Pike a garbage fish but I love catching them. Love it!!! I even eat one occasionally.

A couple weeks ago around my birthday I mentioned pike fishing and sure enough, here it is! I love it. I tried fishing just a couple days ago, but not a bite. I think where I tried was too shallow for the fish still and won't be moving in the area for another few weeks, but it was still nice to be out there.

This is awesome! I caught a ~22 inch Chain Pickerel in my river today along with countless Largemouth Bass. (Ok, maybe like 17). I live in the mid-East coast and it is so nice to see that fish are moving back into my river after a long absence in the Winter! I love your videos and I am always really excited when a new one comes out!

Well welcome back from winter and to some open water. That cold water scares me when fishing from a kayak. Flipped 'er once during the summer and that got my attention; can't imagine repeating the flip in that icy water. Nice way to end your trip with that big musky, congratulation

I grew up in fargo , we had a cabin on pelican lake. what a great child hood. we lived close to the red river and i would fish there a lot. I spent most of my childhood by water, I even got run over by a boat lots of blood in the water. duck hunting was also great. miss the area but not fargo. rural wisconsin is a blessing. great video.
