On occasion of drummer Lee Harrison's birthday Monstrosity did a cover of Slayer's Angel of Death with their ex-member George "Corpsegrinder" Fisher of Cannibal Corpse on vocals.
Despite i didn't record this footage i had to upload it, since this is like christmas&easter&birthday altogether! enjoy!!

Yeah man. When I first heard the cover years ago I was like "Holy shit... this song kills as a pure Death Metal song over a Thrash song." It's on the album In Dark Purity if I remember correctly.

Your definition of "pure Death Metal" doesn't really add up. You'd need something extra special to improve an all-time classic like Angel of Death, but this version merely adds a death metal aesthetic (most evident of course in the vocals). Decent effort, but definitely not an improvement on Slayer's iconic masterpiece.

@@CharlesCooper22 there is no band that can destroy the Slayer's songs. Some songs may be a little bit slower on albums but they play them faster at concerts as you can hear from Dave Lombardo in this video kzfaq.info/get/bejne/bdegeLeLy9aoiH0.html and you can see they played Raining Blood much faster than the studio version in this video kzfaq.info/get/bejne/odSorNeC0b-Uo4E.html. I do not even talk about the drummers because there is no one who can play Slayer's songs better than Dave Lombardo, even the most complex drummers of metal like Marco Minneman. I saw Mike the new vocalist at a local show in Philly not too long ago (2 months.) He lives in Philly and the rest of the band in Florida. I asked him what was up and he said something about the album basically being finished.

Damn, well done. It's sad that for years now, any band that covers a Slayer song, sounds better than them, after they fired Dave and hired Paul back. It seems like Paul Bostaph got infected with Lars Ulrich's syndrome I swear to God. I mean, Paul in the nineties was phenomenal, but since he came back, even his double bass drumming got so lame is not funny anymore!
