I’m a Monta fan. Their bracelets are awesome! I love my Oceanking. The Noble is very tempting as all 3 dial color ways are beautiful.

The case and bracelet say "Rolex Explorer." The display sapphire crystal hex caseback says "Omega." The dial is understated and elegant, maybe like some earlier Seikos. The lume is fantastic too. I don't have a single complaint about it, but at $1600, it's not something I'd buy right away because it's in a category that is pretty crowded with companies like Sinn and Oris IMO.

I have a Sinn 104 and have owned a Monta Noble opaline. I'm thinking of selling the Sinn and getting this anthracite noble. The opaline doesn't have enough dial contrast Sinn is great but has no microadjust on the fly and it has printed indices. The Monta looks more premium with applied indices. The Sinn looks (and probably is) tougher though. I'm getting to the point where bracelet comfort is on par with looks and it annoys me how few brands get it right.

Usually I’d agree about the date wheel, but on this Monta I prefer the way it stands out as a feature 🤷‍♂️

Word of caution. There is $150 restocking fee. The watch has to be in exact condition as received. So unless you know this is exactly what you want, you will end up wasting $150+return shipping. If you take out any plastic, they will reject the return. Pretty rigid for a online only brand. Not sure why all these “friendly” reviews fail to mention this. There is no “check it out”!

very good looking watch.....it's in a very tough price range. it has to compete with brands with more history, such as sinn, damasko, seiko, etc.

This to me is what I like about the aquaterra, but more. Better dimensions for my smallish wrist, LOVE this dial color, sweet bracelet and 1/3 the cost.

It's looks like a very well put together watch, however, I'm not a fan of brands that put a custom rotor on a sellita movement and then call it something else, implying it's an in house movement...

It is a beautiful watch for sure but for me, considering the new offerings from Christopher Ward, the price seems a bit high. The new Sealander series is really tempting. Hopefully you can get one of their GMT's or the Elite in for a review.

@@jameshartle3645 Have you seen them in the flesh? Ward makes a very comparable watch often at a significantly lower price point. I am not criticizing Monta. They make a beautiful watch too.

@@davids.2317 monta’s uses an SW-300, its superior to the SW-200 in the Elite.

@@JB-fl2gp the sw300 isn't superior, it is just thinner, monta are using the standard grade, regulated by themselves, the c63 elite uses the cosc certified sw200, which is a higher grade movement.

I hear a lot of good things about Monta. Would love to see actual comparisons with some high end watches. I can understand the price scares a lot of people because Monta is after all a microbrand without the history to stand on which might command a higher price point. So would be interesting to see this side by side to more historically recognized watches to show how its fit, finish, design choices etc might command the price their asking. I'm intrigued by Montas offerings but they seem to be playing with bigger fish than most microbrands.

Ive handled the opalin noble next to a BB36, Monta is the better watch. comparing finishing, lume, bracelet and overall comfort Monta wins.

@@JB-fl2gp I hear a lot of that. The opalin Noble is a watch I'm considering as well as their Skyquest. I guess I think it would be great for Monta to have KZfaqrs do those comparisons. When I see Monta videos, it seems so many comment on the price. It's one thing to talk about great execution but would be nice to see it compared directly so people could understand that the quality really is there and it shows. 👍🏻

Monta build quality and finishing is on par with Tudor and omega- the co-axial movement is obviously better, but not 5x better.

@@elihollingsworth6852 I did finally make the plunge and got a Monta Noble with the Opalin dial. It really is an amazing value. Definitely on par with something like a Tudor.

Really like the Noble, but the case size gives me pause. The thickness is is exactly what I’m looking for, but those lugs remind me of the maxi/super case sub. Anyone know how this wears compared to the BB36? Obviously larger, but significantly larger?

Does the long fold over clasp underneath actually bother any small wrist owner? My wrist is at 6.3inches and this is the only thing stopping me from ordering it.

I’ve always wondered this too. A lot of people complain about the extremely long clasp and say it protrudes out from the underside of your wrist.

The Formex is wayy sportier. This Monta reminds me more of a Datejust, it is an elegant watch that you can wear every day. Especially the opaline dial.

For those complaining about the price, I urge you to handle a Monta and see the level of finishing that you get compared to other watches in this price point.

Its hard to really understand until you hold the watch. Monta makes incredible watches, but i was timid about spending that much on something i had never held. Took the plunge and 4 Monta’s later im not disappointed at all.

Agreed. The hour hand should almost touch the hour markers but on this model there’s a decent sized gap there. Hopefully Monta fix that on the next iteration.

if you buy a Damasko in the DK line (cause otherwise you're looking at their chrono or diver lineup - i don't know how else to compare to this Monta as an everyday piece) with a bracelet, you're talking at least $2,600. and that's their cheapest DK30 ("no date") version. a bracelet alone from Damasko runs you over $650 edit: mind you, that's if you buy directly from them (as opposed to Long Island Watch or some other retailer)

Very similar styles. I find the Monta feels/looks a bit more "luxurious" due to the finishing and other details. I'm biased though as an owner of a few Monta watches
