I have lived in both states for significant periods of time and have family in both states. As far as things to do, there is no difference between the states. If you are an outdoors person, both states offer the same adventures. If anything, Wyoming is like Montana used to be about 20 years ago. Jobs tend to be the same. As in Montana, your job depends on where you live or vice versa. But the same opportunities exist. Taxwise, you can't beat Wyoming. It is the main reason I live in Wyoming now.

Same. From MT, live in WY for economic reasons. Good amount of really mountainous areas that not as many people know about in WY like Wind River Range, Big Horns, and Absarokas. It is like Montana 20 or 30 years ago really.

I was born and raised in the most unique state in the US, Wyoming. It will always be my home even though the Army has stationed me around the world. So far there has been no equal to Wyoming. but Montana is a close second in my books next to Texas.

Where in Wyoming? We are in Oregon and conservatism is dying here. We might move in the next year or so and we are looking at Montana, Wyoming, Texas and Arkansas. We have a martial arts school but can do drywall as well. My dad was born on the Flathead reservation and moved to Livingston Montana and then to greybull Wyoming. He broke football records at his highschool. He loves his home state but we have a life here and it will be very hard to leave after killing 25 elk over the course of my 29 years. We love it here but it's getting CRAZY. Communism is becoming the new popular thing even though they don't know a cultural revolution is happening. They are oblivious.

I live in Wyoming, and love it here. The wildlife and landscape are to die for. I love the fact there aren't many people, but it's not for everyone. If you like shopping and conveniences at your finger tips, or can't live independently, forget it. You have to live and shop differently, and always be sure you have a full tank of gas, you may not come across another station any time soon. If you are a liberal, you will not be happy her! I work from home, so that part doesn't affect me, which makes Wyoming perfect.

Montana has no sales tax, Wyoming has up to 5% based on county. In the counties with higher populations, Montana’s property taxes are high especially after each county tacks on school levy’s. With our latest influx of people during 20-21, real estate is not obtainable for the average, working Montanans. Rentals are scarce. And, with more people comes more problems. In my county, crime is up, accidents on the highway are up, politics are changing. None of this is for the better.

You should be aware of one simple fact about Wyoming, that is that the wind blows 351 days a year. I have traveled I 25 from Chyenne to Casper 3 times and each time I saw 2 trucks blown over. To see the grass laying down is a normal day in Wyoming. If you doubt it check the weather records. You will learn real quick what they mean by a gentle breeze, and why they have wind socks on the bridges.

I lived in North Idaho for 15 years. If you like 6 feet of snow, constant plowing and shoveling and 20 degrees below zero, then go there. After slipping and falling on ice every winter, jamming your shoulders, neck and back when you land on your tail bone, occasional fender bender accidents on ice, and a very short gardening season with poor rocky soil, I'm done with it.
