Thanks so much for this. I'm a Handicapped/homebound stay at home mom. Teaching my toddler independence is a must for me. She's becoming my little helper and this video honestly warms my heart. Thank you for making my day to day easier, this is seriously a huge help to me.

Your comment has put a smile on my face. I was in a montessori kindergarden as a child. Now I am working as a trainer for people in an apprenticeship and I was able to work with young girls with a handicap and I am so glad about this experience. Recognizing how different every handicap is and how much we could do, if we knew more and they were included more and learning about their individual needs. I feel so happy to hear that something like this video and teaching montessori is helping you and your toddler. Wish you both the best. 😊

I’m 57 and never had my own kids but was raised / went to early Montessori school and watching your videos makes me realise a bunch of things about my own childhood. I can still see and hear and feel objects and introspective play and problem-solving moments so clearly from that time in my minds eye. Like the moment I learned what ‘red’ was . It’s been a huge influence on how I see the world as an artist and art historian. Maybe everyone remembers these things regardless of their early education style, but I really think of things in terms of their materiality.

We Germans love ikea. Some of the baby things we still have here. The tiny house with blocks and the tower with rings. Soon the 3 child will play with. With the first chair you show we build a learning tower. There are many diy for it. 👍

Just like in your home, I had similar shelves to yours in my classroom ( I taught 5 year olds). The compartments were perfect for placing activities. I used the wooden trays too to make it easier for the children to bring things to the table or floor. I think organization is key in creating a welcoming space for children to learn and explore new activities. I’d like that kind of shelving in my house one day for my own children. I love the amount of thought you have put into your videos and I’m sure the items you’ve shown has helped give people a lot of ideas ☺️

I’m so glad that I stumbled across your channel!! I have four children and the first two are older school age children and my last two are 3 and 19mos. I wish I knew about Montessori teaching when my older two were younger. However, now that God has blessed me to work from home, I’m starting a new adventure homeschooling my baby girls. Right now I’m doing research on different methods of teaching and curriculums before I officially start homeschooling. I just love the concepts and teachings that I’m learning so far about the Montessori way. Enough about myself lol I just want to thank you for sharing in such great detail!! You definitely have a new subscriber in me ☺️ I look forward to more of your videos.

You are the best! I've recently discovered your channel, after my LO was born and I gotta say you are a true inspiration, you always deliver quality content, you are organized and you are consistent. The videos "How to learn drinking from a cup" or the ones dedicated to Baby led weaning were a great help for me! Things whose importance I didn't even think about, seemed so easy and so "must do it" thanks to you! Especially since I am the first mom in my close friends group! :) You are a great inspiration for Montessori education, as well as for how to be a better mom! U rock!!!! 👍🤗🤗💪 Thank you for all of your work and dedication!

I picked up the stacking cups last week! They were exactly what I was looking for and they even have holes in them, so are great to use in the bath/for water play too. IKEA has a set of 'stacking' beds as well and I was thinking of getting a set (and using just one for now) for my 9 month old as a floor bed. It is a few inches off the ground and possibly a better option for where I live as I am paranoid about spiders and having a mattress on the floor. (Australia).

Hi Ashley! Ikea really has the best wooden toddler toys for a really good price. That step stool is something I need to buy, I had no idea Ikea sells it. The play kitchen is so cute, I would love to buy it for Alex but my husband thinks that's for girls only :D! The children's table you showed was used in the preschool I used to work at, for washing their own dishes, but it can be used for so many activities as you mentioned. I hope you had a great 4th of July ❤️!

Is there a undeniable reason to avoid plastic? For example: LEGO DUPLO?
@vineetamendiratta5121

Yes yes. When babies put wood in their hands, it offers a texture and / or warmth. Metal has the tendency to go go from cold to warm when they put their hands on it... It also offers a 'taste' when they put it in thier mouth. When they enter todlerhood, they learn to care for delicate things which this becomes a part of. Plastic on the other hand does nothing
@veronikafabekovic3633
@veronikafabekovic3633 3 жыл бұрын
IMO, quality made plastic toys (like Lego or small animals) are also a great choice for children. I am combining different methods, little bit of montessori, waldorf, mindfullness and all the others I find interesting 😊 And I found out that Duplo blocks are the only toy that interests all of my kids at the same time. They are very versatile, can be used in educational purposes and are very sturdy (some of more delicate wooden or even ceramic toys just don't survive 3 boys 😄). I know that the natural materials have different texture, smell, color ... than plastic ones and that is very important to include the variety of them. But on the other hand, quality made plastic animals can be much more representative than any other ones - and that is also another aspect of montessori method.
Don't eat centipede 🪱😂
