Does Montessori also have a way to teach them about finances ? And being able to buy their own toys and teaching them how money works possibly? I feel like this would be a very important life skill that I would like to teach them young inorder to build credit and be financially smarter as they grow, Ofcourse not forcing them to do any skills they don’t want to but would it be considered a reward by paying them allowance?

I have to disagree with calling overwhelming emotional, physical, sensory experiences, or etc., tantrums. It seems to me that you are describing “meltdowns”. If a child has a disruption in a routine, it may lead into an overwhelming response from them. If a child experiences a perceived loss of autonomy, this can also lead to overwhelming responses. I would suggest looking into PDA, otherwise known as “Pathological Demand Avoidance”; better known as “Persistent Drive for Autonomy”.

To other peoole watching this, If you live somewhere with Scorpions please be sure they aren't on your property (wander around outside with a black light) before doing a floor bed, cribs come in handy for keeping young children safe from them because they are dangerous to young children. Sometimes people place glass jars at the feet of their crib to prevent Scorpions from climbing it, so make sure your crib has feet that allow that.

About to go in for surgery to have my 2nd tube removed. First ectopic was 2019 now another in 2024... Been trying for baby number 2 for 12 years now with hub. Only remaining option for us is IVF x I'm at 11 weeks right now, so 4cm. Quite large. Last one burst (12 weeks along). I'm SO hoping this one doesn't before my surgery! Had to go to the hospital 3 times before they found it.... It's been 60 days since all this started.

I know this video is old, but I strongly disagree on the crib. The WHO says that slepping with your newborn until is 6 months old is a must to reduce the risk of SIDS and it's recommended to extend it up to 1 year. A full bed is impossible to accommodate in my (and presumably all of us) master's bedroom 🤷🏼‍♀️

I have a 7 year old. When she was a toddler, I hated taking her to the park upon leaving, she'd freak out and have a tantrum. I started telling her that if she leaves the park willingly, we will return sooner. However, if she doesn't leave willingly, then we will NOT go back to the park for awhile. This worked well for her because I would bring her back to the park the next day if she left willingly. Even now she's 7, we'll go to the park and I'll ask her what happens if we don't leave when Mom says it's time to go. She'll respond with, "We won't come back for a long time." LOL so she actually understands now but it took awhile since I started that when she was young.

This doesn’t seem to work for children under 2 or 2.5. My 1 year old is wild and I have to walk away and show him no attention about it. I used to comfort him through his tantrums and regulate for him, but his screaming got so loud that I couldn’t handle it anymore. Then when he calms down I hold out my hand and I talk to him. The only times I give his tantrum any attention is when it comes from him getting hurt, if he needs something or is very tired. He is throwing less tantrums and uses more hand gestures now and pulls me to what he wants or needs. I used to do this Montessori thing for my 5 year old when he was 1 and it never worked. After he turned 2 years old I began teaching him breathing exercises and removing him from wherever it is that he’s having his meltdown if we’re out in public. I would wait outside with him patiently and tell him “ I understand why you’re upset. I’ll wait with you here until you feel better”. He’s very self aware now and I always made it a point to help him understand his feelings, label them and talk about it. I always tell him to use his words not his hands. He tells me how he feels and doesn’t react anymore. It’s nice.

The link for the NAMC Homeschool Curriculum in the description is no longer valid. I did look at their website and found a curriculum, but was unsure if it was the homeschool curriculum you used. It looks like they offer a Montessori Teacher Diploma program, and I wasn't sure if the curriculum I found was only for the classroom setting or for both classroom and homeschool. Could you offer any updated guidance/link for this?

Montessori materials are all about structured self correcting play (such as pink tower, binomial cube etc) so I don't see how coloring books are that much different.
