Setting aside the fact that newer Sony cameras offer USB-C streaming and charging while this model requires a capture card, let's focus solely on its ability to deliver a 1080p 60fps video feed for livestreaming. Would you consider it the best choice in terms of image quality and cost? Or would options like the a6700 or even the FX30 provide superior image quality with the same lenses? Cheers

Hey man! Thank you so much for your video! I had a question though. When I use my camera as a webcam sometimes the focus shutters and I see my self good, blurry, good, blurry. It doesn't stay focused very well. Do you have any tips?

When I put it on autofocus, it's constantly going blurry and back to focus when I move my head and it's very distracting. Is there a way to stop that? I'm using a Sony 24-70mm lens.

Monte, I'm just a KZfaqr (with produced and livestreams, although doing more livestreams lately). I have 2 DSLR cameras, and want SOOO bad to get an ATEM mini just to have multiple camera angles. Do you think a 2 camera angle livestream makes sense or do you need 3 before you're having a good production? The ATEM mini is cool, but an investment and one I'm not ready to make if I'm just putting a custom paint job on an economy sedan.

Good stuff mate, hopefully I'll be able to use the same settings as you can get the same look! I'm having trouble using my ZOOM PodTrak P8 and ManyCam together. I trying to sync the voice with the video when broadcasting live, I have done some sync offset with the audio inputs and it is ok however the video is still jumpy and have not get the same look as you. I will give it ago with your settings and see how I get on.

I have the Sony A6400 I installed the Sony Imaging software to use it as a webcam but man it looks laggy it's like 30fps on my OBS whereas all my settings are good and if I look at the camera itself the quality is good as well but it's just laggy and has less quality when using as a webcam. Hi just bought this camera and lens for streaming but I have a silly question. Are you supposed to power off the camera after every stream? I have friends who shut down their pc’s but don’t turn the camera in the off position. Wouldn’t that eventually cause overheating? I turned mine off last night after my very first stream and then today when I started stream OBS wasn’t recognizing the camera so I had to add it again. And when I told my other streamer friends about my problem they all said they don’t turn theirs off. PLEASE HELP……

Thank you for this video! Very helpful. I just found out that I can't stream through the HDMI port and record in 4K at the same time. Actually, you can, but the display goes black. Just found this on page 234 of the user manual. Looks like I will be recording on XAVC S HD instead.

Hey dude, I'm trying to get my 6400 through to OBS however, my setup is still not working and I was wondering (since you all seem to know your stuff) if I could pick your brains. I have the camera, connected via hdmi to a high quality video capture card (do I need to download some software for it? I just plugged it in), to my computer . OBS recognises the capture card as 4K cam link, but the screen says no signal received. I've tried turning on all the HDMI options in the Setup4 page of the menu and still nothing. Any ideas?

If you are uploading to KZfaq in 1080p, you can get even more quality. 4:4:4 Chroma Subsampling and few more stops of dynamic range by recording in 4k then exporting to 1080p.

Good video! I just got an a6400 and a dummy AC battery. Questions: 1. I see that the auto shut-off's highest setting is 30 minutes. Will the camera still shut off if, say, a Zoom call goes longer than 30 minutes? 2. When I tried to change to AF Continuous I got a message saying it wasn't an option. 😯 Any help is appreciated. 🙏🏼

Hi Monte, I tried this as you stated but when I go to live stream software the image of me doesn’t stay in focus. I tried the dial on top to Auto and Manuel. Same thing. Won’t star in focus. Using all your setting and a sigma 30 mm lens. Also everything seems to be in intelligent mode. Maybe upgrade my capture card ? I am using a basic 1080 p one and not the elgato . Thank you

Hi there. Love the videos. I have a question for you. I have the standard Sony lens and I am having trouble with the auto focus. I might be sitting too close for the lens, but I have to sit where I am. I am also using the camera through a teleprompter on my desk. The image looks just out of focus. Any suggestions?

If you were recording a video (not streaming) for youtube, would you record by going HDMI out of cam into an Elgato USB capture device and record with something like OBS. Or, would you record with the camera and pull the file off the memory card. Would the quality be any different?

Hey Monte! Thanks for the content. Our church uses our a6400 to livestream our services, and recently have experienced the camera turning off. We use a dummy battery to run it on AC power, the power save mode is set to 30 minutes and auto power off is set to High. Any thoughts you have would be greatly appreciated.
