saw this module in another video and thought, "What the heck is that thing doing?" And this video explained exactly what the heck that thing was doing. What a cool module! And what a helpful and infectiously enthusiastic walkthrough. Thanks for this

This is a great video, demonstrating practical and musical uses for this module. TipTop makes cool stuff, and you did an impressive job of showing what a gate sequencer (plus) can do in the hands of a creative person. Well done.

This is similar to the EHX Clockworks, which I LOVE using with my old Simmons brain. A clear difference between the two is that the Clockworks has attenuation (via sliders) which is key for a lotta old school drum machines that were triggered by piezo.

Great video man! I just scooped up an Analog Four and trying to send CV clock from Analog Four to the Trigger Riot and not having much luck. Do you know if this is even possible? Any help would be greatly appreciated... Been at it for days now.. heh

This does indeed look like an amazing module. As I watch this video, I immediately hoped that the rows could be "summed" in other ways. In terms of logical operations, it looks like the summing is a 4 way "OR" operation. Have I got that right? What would really be ACE is if we could switch that to an "AND" operation. That would make this considerably more powerful. Yes? Please let me know if that's already in there and I just didn't hear it. Thanks!

I sometimes feel like a kid at a theoretical physics symposium. Would this be a good foundation module when starting out or is a very advanced module you should only acquire after you’ve purchased and worked with a hundred other things and consumed hundreds of hits of DMT first?

I love the trigger riot and use it in every patch but what the hell is the basic idea with cycling? it seems to have some other functionality that I find utterly baffling. Ive had it for years and have watched this video many times. Thanks so much. You do an incredible job in these videos.

Is it possible to send an audio pulse from a soundcard into the clock in and have the TR sync to a DAW?
@Shootingstarvideo
@Shootingstarvideo 8 жыл бұрын
+nectariosm Yes, you can use a pulse signal or even the metronome (bit more complicated). But easiest is to check out expert sleepers "silent way" plugins for controlling modulars with your DAW.

+Pete Tews I have an ES-4 and Sync on it is dreadfull. Only using Silent Way LFOs for slow modulations.

Is the Z8000 sequencer similar enough to the Trigger Riot to give similar drum-gasms? It's quite a bit cheaper.
@mylarmelodies

@yoianrhodes
@yoianrhodes 8 жыл бұрын
It seems great for a live modular performance, you can not only save the patterns but you can make off beat stuff (chance/32nds?) and then clear whole sounds when you want. I'm thinking good for dnb boom...ch.....boom..ch
@anaphylastiks
@anaphylastiks 8 жыл бұрын
VS digital aint got nothing, but the die hard fans that think analog sounds better than digital. Interesting stuff to play around with , but for a decent set would take so much to perform, plus most speakers and amps are built for digital sound now days.
@yoianrhodes
@yoianrhodes 8 жыл бұрын
+Chris Dealny I think the digital argument isn't the point. I'm saying it would be great to use for a performance, but that's assuming that the performance uses mainly a modular rack full of stuff. now yes you can just use a computer and yes they sound (in most cases) the same. but so far the modules show us that there is a skill to making a whole sequence (song?) without the use of a daw
@anaphylastiks
@anaphylastiks 8 жыл бұрын
yo ianrhodes But that is like saying, building a chair from wood with hand tools is better than building a chair from wood with power tools, the point is moot, but the die hard fans will say hand made furniture is better, when really it is not , it just takes longer to make.
