That’s phenomenal Tom! Learning this classic was on my bucket list and there is NOTHING to be found on the web to assist me in doing so. THANK YOU so much for doing my request!!! It’s also a nice tribute to the late great Ronnie Montrose RIP. I think this will be a very popular lesson for many guitarists. Also, thanks for your other lessons that have inspired me and aided me in accomplishing guitar licks I thought were well beyond my abilities!

No prob! hope it helps....(oh and the lesson will be out soon). It's really an honor to have fellow guitarists such as yourself say thanks for me just posting a cover solo. ... thanks again for the great request and keep in touch!

Huge, huge thanks for this. Grew up the Bay Area during that time. Saw Gamma two or three times. R.I.P. Ronnie.

Nice, one of my all time favorites. Living in the SF Bay area in the late 70s and 80s, I had the chance to see Ronnie Montrose with Gamma and other projects. Great guitarist, great music. This song from the Gamma 2 album was amazing as well as that entire record along with the first album. R.I.P. Ronnie forever. BTW way to nail this solo it will help me learn it as well.

One of my all time RM songs! I can play the solo good enough to "fake it" ;-). Now I can see the CORRECT way to play it! Much thanks!! I've only found 1 other vid lesson of this song. I'd love to see how you play the chords :-).

Thanks. I'll have to see if I have some other footage of the chords! I think I do but won't be able to dig it up for a few weeks when I get back home...

Shame on me for forgetting how great Ronnie was! After watching I immediately purchased the 1st two Gamma discs. Another forgotten gem is Eddie Money's Life for the Taking. Jimmy Lyons is a real unsung guitar hero.

tony vargas Actually, I wouldn't sweat that last fast lick too much because, if you listen very close to the recording, it is very muddy and the guitar volume really gets buried - with the drums and all going on, and so the way I play it here is not exact. I did go back and analyze it again after this take, and on my lesson, it's actually LESS complicated and truer to the original. Having said that, again I wouldn't sweat it because if you slow down the original right there it's like they almost dropped out the guitar intentionally to bury some bad notes or something. So where it drops out I used my best guess analysis of what the few split second notes would be based on the hand positioning, where he started, and how he ended it.

That was really well done, and no offense, but it would have been much more helpful for you to have slowed down the solo sections so we could learn the parts, bit by bit. All in all, great job and thank you :)
